The length of the deal for Latrell says a fair bit about what Robbo has in mind for the kid. Brilliant news.

Yep, they're brothers Shaq being the eldest. Although not athletically gifted like his little brother, Shaq possesses Artie-like ball skills usually before the line - a pleasure to watch.
Manu has blossomed heaps since starting on the wing the last few years in SG Ball. Excellent line-breaker.

Manu and Latrell are great signings. Let's get serious though Shaq is average at best IMO. Some good skills but cannot ever see him doing any damage in FG. A poor mans version of Kasiano. As I said just my opinion but if he was at another club we wouldn't be so keen on him....... and will only get 'bigger'

Just on Shaquai, is he another Jonny Tuivasa-Sheck - brought along for the ride with his more talented brother - or is he a genuine 1st grade propsect in 3 or so years time?
The conditioning staff have worked a treat on Shaq during the off-season which has allowed him to play more minutes. If he can keep on track with his fitness who knows what e.g George Rose, Sam K.
Although, having said that, with the proposed interchange reduction it doesn't look rosy for the games big types.

you can bet the way they trumpeted the Mitchell/Mitchell/Manu re-signing that there is going to be some bad retention news regarding Maloney very very soon, they were trying to get a positive spin out there for the fans.
no doubt the only reason Shaquai got a 4yr deal was because we were desperate to keep Latrell, if he doesn't start taking his diet/conditioning seriously he won't get within 100 miles of first grade given the new interchange rules that are upcoming.
in regards Latrell he is a special talent, but also needs to knuckle down to take full advantage of his natural talent.
Manu reminds me of a young SKD, has moments of brilliance but also has regular blunders, there is certainly something to work with him, needs to continue to add muscle to his frame otherwise he will get rag dolled in first grade like Mini 2014 our Toups.

I can't see that a reduction in the interchange would spell and end to bigger forwards at all.
People used to say "half-a-game" Artie wouldn't last the distance, glad Balmain thought as such.
League used to be a game for all types and sizes with different skill sets.
The currant format is too robotic.
Fitness and attrition play a part, but if it was up to me, I'd can the interchange altogether and just have a couple of fresh reserves.
