Played for us or our lower grades in the early 90's or something I think.

its absolutely criminal that we will never see RTS and Mitchell destroying teams together.

Hastings is a very good player. I however don't like the idea of Hastings to fullback for the next few years until Mitchell is ready. I believe that we can't afford to muck around with the key position of fullback. We had a club legend at fullback when we last won the premiership in 2013, and RTS has been going great for us this year and was instrumental in us defeating the bull$cumdog$hit last game!

Hastings is a very good player and his ideal position is either 5/8th or halfback, not fullback. He is too small and not quick enough for fullback. I have seen him look very ordinary under the high ball as well.

In making the big decisions for next year, I would be letting Maloney go and having Hastings take his place. At fullback we have to do 1 of 2 things, either keep RTS or replace him with either of Hayne or Folau. With Dave Smith's discretionary fund we could afford to have Hayne or Folau for a couple of years, and then Mitchell will be ready to take over from there. Maloney has been really down on form this year. He has played 2 good games out of 10, and has been bloody ordinary in most of the rest! The NSW selectors see how shit Maloney has been going this year, which is exactly why they preferred to go with the very ordinary Hodkinson, and play Pearce out of position, even with Maloney being surrounded with other Roosters players around him in the NSW side.

I am not concerned at all about having Hayne or Folau for a short period, I wouldn't see them as only some kind of mercenary or something as some on here seem to be worried about. To me it is exactly like what SBW did for us, and I hold SBW in the highest of regard!! Who cares how much it will cost us to get either of Hayne or Folau, it will not count towards the cap because of Dave Smith's discretionary fund. It would be a hit and run mission, leaving us with another premiership.

Bottom-line is you have to have a kick ar$e specialist fullback to win the comp, not a makeshift fullback like what Hastings would be. If Hastings is our fullback next year we will miss RTS 'BIG TIME'!! If RTS does end up leaving us and we get either Hayne or Folau, then we will not miss RTS at all.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

              Here's looking at you, kid.

Agree about Hastings, he's not a FB at all.

I'd love to able to get Folau or Hayne but I can't see it eventuating. We should go for someone like Gordon who could show Mitchell the ropes whilst he plays on the wing.

So let me get this straight. On one hand you believe the NRL is corrupt and deliberately cheats to ensure it is difficult for the Roosters to win and then you think the the NRL might allow the Roosters to sign Folau or Hayne from David Smith's discretionary fund. Which one is it? You need to wake and realise we are not going to be signing Hayne or Falou so we are going to have to make do with what we have.

Yes you get this straight, the nrl are corrupt as all f**k, and the nrl will allow us to sign either Hayne or Folau. The reason they would allow us to do so is because we would have freed up the space by letting go of RTS and Maloney, so other clubs and supporters can't have a whinge that we are unfairly stacking up all the talent etc. Also Hayne and Folau are exactly the type of players that the concept refers to, and by having them back in the game means more exposure and money for the nrl. Everything the nrl do is about the almighty dollar, they do whatever is best for business even if that means us getting hold of Hayne or Folau, what is so hard to understand about that?? The whole world revolves around money, what rock have you been living under??

We most definitely can be a chance to get either Hayne or Folau, having SBW for the past two years proves our club's ability to pull off such signings!!

You never know when it comes to Folau and Hayne. It could very well come down to how much we are prepared to pay them, cause it is my understanding with this discretionary fund concept, we can pay them however much we like and it will not count towards the cap. How badly do we want to win another premiership?

Gordon is a decent player and would most likely do a better job of fullback than Hastings. I am not a huge fan of Gordon though, he has some age about him these days and I would much rather we open up the purse strings and go all out for a Hayne or Folau as they would be worth it! I wouldn't be giving up on trying to get RTS to stay as well if possible first of all, still a bit of time up our sleeve there. Never say never, people do have a change of heart. I won't be surprised if DCE has a change of heart and ends up staying with womanly.

The problem is that uncle Nick and the club is manouvering for a return of SBW in 2017 should state of Origin eligibility rules change. Just keep on speculating you twit...Cockadoodoodledoodoodoo has just exposed you as a each way betting hack with no credibility.

Hahahaha....I don't claim to have any credibility and according to the genius who thought RTS cannot play fullback and Trent Robbo cannot coach no pick football talent I'm just a drunk always in a stupor.

You always never fail to amuse me bOracle.

Cockles asked the question which you only half answered about why the NRL will do anything it can in its power to get its Darlings such as Souffs, Broncos and Bullscum over the line but give us a leg up with its discretionary fund for a Folau or a Hayne. Your answer is money....well why couldn't the NRL get those players to another club via the discretionary fund if it so obviously hates us eg a so called well supported club in its eyes in which it could make even more money milking the cream of a Jayne or Folau return.

Anyway I have got another case of beer that Kegs has unloaded from his Suzuki mighty boy to drink than argue with light weights like you.. 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 😱😱

Bit off-topic but I found a really short video of Latrell in the NYC. Very good tackle breaker (to be fair NYC defence is shit) and looks alright under the high ball.
