I hate State of Oranges...
I might add a lot of the doggies fans are really cut over both there halves not getting picked, I know Jimmy and pearce not exactly setting the world on fire at the moment but seriously they have some screwed up views

Pearce says he wants to silence the doubters, why bother most of them hate him win lose or draw, He's already won a competition thats the pinnacle of rugby league.
Origin holds appeal to players like Gallen, Hayne etc, who will never taste premiership glory & of course Queenslanders.

Maybe having Hodgo take the reins will allow Pearce to relax and play some footy instead of having to organise. It could be a blessing in disguise.
The bigger selection fark up is Will Hopoate, he is playing terrible. I would have went with Johnson, a try scorer, we need points to beat qld
No Gallen and Bird is a plus IMO. As tough as they are, creativity wise there both ball hogs. I don't know how many times last year they stifled the attack by just racking up another hit up

My moneys on the cane toads.I don't think origin is the place to experiment with blooding players in different positions especially 5/8.We will see what unfolds but i hope JT and Cronk don't put on a masterclass and everybody points the finger at junior.

I actually don't mind Pearce at 5/8. He runs the ball well, and should largely stick to the left side where Cordner, Jennings & Toops will be.
At least the heat will be on Hodgkinson to run the show, so if they lose maybe he's the first head on the chopping block instead of Pearce for a change. (How's that for optimism?)
But, as most people seem to be ignoring, if the forwards don't do the job, it wouldn't matter if NSW had Johns & Fittler in the halves, they won't win.
I'd have had Moylan at fullback and Dugan at centre, with Morris pushed out to the wing. Hoppa should have been the 329th player in line for that spot. Johnson, Tedesco, hell even Aubbo would have been better on the wing.
