  • Tonight's kicking game

Where has this been all season ??????

Waaaayyy better from both Pearce and Maloney. Good balance of grubbers, and bombs.

And also love friend's chip kicks and grubbers.
    Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Agreed, top kicking game from all 3.

So much more control, variety and accuracy in our kicking game which helped us maintain momentum.

Friendy is back to his terrier like never say die best.

A lot easier to get the balance between bombs and grubbers when we are dominating field position.

In recent times we just haven't been getting the same sort of dominance in field position, credit to our forward pack tonight they were awesome & the halves didn't let them down.

Ditto...Forwards made enough space and opportunities for the halves and backs to weave their magic.

Our second phase play was very upbeat tonight also. In saying that I think we may have pushed the pass once or twice too often

I'd rather push the pass and make a few errors than just not chance our arm which we've been guilty of in the last month of football.

They played direct and with intent, not much stopping at the line more like blowing through , nose out and quick play the balls.
The JWH , Tapow confrontation was a non event more like a master class from Jared to the Pup and only one penalty and big quality minutes.

Taco certainly adds some starch and energy .

Guerra and Maubs seemed to put the brakes on Richards the Tiges top try scorers edge.

Bench held their own and then some .

Looks like we now have all the pieces in play to go forward SOO disruptions could Derail this through.

Exactly!! We have been guilty of playing not to lose instead of playing to win the past month!

Great to see our kicking game finally where it should be! Some $hithouse kicks can mean the difference between a win and a loss which we have seen in some of our close losses over the past month.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                  Here's looking at you, kid.

Question... how can Friend do enough to prove he's ready for Origin? Smith's not in career-best form right now... not saying Friend should replace him, but I think Friend's in better form. What will he have to do in order to prove he's ready?

Friend will probably be there next year. I can't see him getting the bench option over DCE/Hunt and I doubt he will usurp Smith just yet.

It's good we have great hooked depth in Mitch Williams and Joey Lussick to combat this.

Smith will probably be an immortal. Friend will never play hooker until Smith retires. Smith has earned the right to choose when he retires from a team that sticks with its players.

I think friendy will get his shot next year. He is perfectly suited to origin but they will stick with Smith for this series I think.

I'd take Friendy over the 31 year old Cam Smith every day of the week.
