I'll start by saying I've given this much thought. The solution is far from perfect but better than the option of playing Anasta at 5/8 or 2nd row.

I believe we may have a solution for Anasta. The facts so far:
1. Smith isn't going to drop him this year
2. Capable of tackling, yet not racking up tackle counts.
3. He is not contributing sufficiently to be a forward. Put him in the forwards and we lose our balance
4. Stop gap at 5/8 until Carney returns

With all this said, why not move Anasta to Centre, move Maubs back to the pack. Bring back Carney when fit; not when rehabilitated. Hopefully this will be sooner rather than later.

Benefits of Anasta in centres:
1. He is capable of 6 tackles a match
2. Can use his ball playing skills to set up his winger/fullback, allowing Mini to stay out of the attacking line
3. Can run at the opposition backs; not the forwards, thereby allowing him the confidence to take on the line again
4. He must be faster than Maubs
5. He isn't capable of playing anywhere else

as a back rower he is playing inside centre on our left side, he may not be first man in a tackle and getting the tackle numbers but as asecond man or cover defender he,s doing just fine........

Perhaps to provide the fans some proper 1/2 time entertainment, Maubs should race Braith in the "Rooster Gift"

The only problem with that is that braith will still be trying to finish running the full 100 metres by the time the teams are ready to come back onto the field. He doesn't run that far for the whole year.

How about Carney in the centres and Linnett at wing. Sau is 4cm shorter apparently and Carney would be a similar player at centre... Just provide him good ball 5 metres out and he can force his way over the line with a bit more space then at wing.

Put Jake Friend in at 5/8. I'm sure playing all his junior footy there he'd be better FALUE than Braith!! Just a suggestion...
