Could be a quick fix for our fullback dilemma next year? Coming off contract after this year, very quick & has some nice silky footwork although he is quite injury prone. Could catch him for cheap money. Thoughts?

Could swap him around during games. His very quick, biggest issue is his injury tendency.Last edited by ChookMaster; 04-23-2015, 10:04 PM.

Wot is it with those warriors
50 fullbacks, 50 centres, 200 wingers
None of them have flourished
Buy an import from the UK who says he's the next Slater....

The problem with Fishiahii, Mamo & even Omar is that they're not short term fixes. They're players who are going to require significant investment to get up to scratch and by that stage Latrell Mitchell who is the obvious long term plan will be ready to start his development as a fullback.
I think there's a few options that the club could go with but I don't think any of those should involve bringing on another player who needs to be developed and educated.
My first preference would be to give Billy Slater his last contract and let Mitchell shadow him but obviously that depends on how much money we have. My second preference would be to start playing Jackson Hastings at fullback in preparation for next year, obviously his best position is in the halves but he wouldn't be the first half who came into grade through the fullback position. I think it'd be a great introduction to grade for him and he's played quite a bit of the position in his junior days, at least by 2016 Hastings will have been in our system for 2 years which makes him well advanced of any other external options.
Jimmy - 2 year contract for 2016 & '17
Jacko - 2 years at fullback for Hastings in 2016 & '17, move to 5/8 in 2018
Latrell - 2 years in the 20's in 2015 &'16. 1 year in grade at centre or wing in 2017, move to fullback in 2018
