  • The Fat Lady Has Not Even Warmed Up

We are right in this Comp. don't for a minute doubt that. All I keep reading about is the Refs. In 2013 and 2014 nothing was different. We won a comp and then didn't go all the way last year coz we somehow let Penrith beat us.

I honestly believe the window is still open. There is no standout team this year and I have no doubt we will beat Saints this week. Just like the Knights have been shown up as an average side, so will Saints.

The only game we have been poor this year is V Cronulla. If the crossbar is skinnier we beat Brisbane. If Nene gets lower and puts his body on the line we beat the Storm. That's how close we are to being 5-2. Instead we are middle of the pack and well in it.

We have played 2 pretty good footy teams the last couple of weeks and were unlucky not to win them. It's obvious we get screwed by bad decisions but that is nothing new. And let's not pretend we don't bring some of that upon ourselves. Honestly, who was the idiot last night(Setu or Manu I think) that decided to put the tackled player in a blatant choke hold. He must have had him in that hold for 5 seconds and I have no doubt you guys were thinking the same as me. Why would you do that? That is simply a play by a very dumb person. Did they expect a different outcome?

Despite the fact we did not receive a penalty in the second half for the past 2 weeks, both games were there to win. That shows how good this team can be and I believe things will turn against the Saints.

In regards to referees , the thing that bothers me the most is the obvious bias against JWH. I would love the Club to compile video of the amount of times JWH has been in a scuffle against an opposition player. I have counted at least 10 times this year when this has happened and it is mostly while the game is still going on. The thing that really $hits me is that on every occasion it's Jareds name they call out. Never the other guy. "Get out of it Jared". All that type of stuff. Not on one occasion have I heard them call the other guys name. That's simply because they have a preconceived idea about him.

I would love the Club to compile video evidence of it (there is plenty out there) and ask Tony Archer to explain why his staff only ever bother to call out the one guy. It is indefensible.

Anyway, as I said, it starts this week. We will beat Saints.

She'll be starting to. Starting to get hard to be top 4 with 3-5 and 4 losses in a row. Confidence would be low. But if we get to 4-4, we're right back in it. Very close competition at the moment unlike the last couple of years where there's been 2 or 3 that are a fair way better than the rest.

        "And it's something quite peculiar
        Something that's shimmering and white

It leads you here despite your destination."

You guys are still in it imo.

The refs are even more biased against us this year. I didn't even think it was possible.

But if we get into the top four and have our best side available we will win this thing. We could even do it from outside the top four if we have our players in.

I'd rather lose these close games now then in September! Our handling was excellent last night ... impressive we just need to finish games off better!

2015 is looking remarkably similar to 2014.

A 2-4 start last year on the back of three straight close losses; largely thanks to our halves inability to close out games.

And now a 3-4 start with three straight close losses; also because of our halves inability to close out games.

The refs of course never help. In a great game last night the Storm won solely on the back of the 4-0 second half penalty count. It got them into attacking positions they couldn't muster through their own endeavour. Rather similar to the Broncos.

If we lose to the Saints, then the fat lady has left the building with Elvis!

Gotta love your optimism JC, however mines all gone. I'm afraid we just don't have the team like 2013 to beat everyone. Plus the reffing is worse, we handled it better last year, mp's too but it only took one second half to send us packing. The league is corrupt, they want a different winner each year as it suits their business model. Unfortunately football dosen't work that way and our period of being heavyweights is for nothing except for 2013 when we had the luxury of ambush but they have us now.

So gutted. I can't see them stopping, its been right up in our face for the last two years and they are only tightening the screws

I said this last week and I'll say it again after a repeat of last week's second half, the difference between 2013 and 2015 is that the 2015 Roosters can't seem to overcome the opposition AND the refs. We know they hate us, we know we're going to keep copping it each week, it's time to muscle up and stop trying to play nice.

But we're getting jack of it.
Keep thinking," maybe this year we'll get a fair shake."

I wanna see this team rack up 200 points in a month.

It's not so black and white as winning and losing. We played quite well the last two weeks but didn't get the chocolates. The week before was the best game I've seen the sharks play in years. Every nrl team knows we are the benchmark and they are aiming up for us.

'Somehow Penrith beat us' Allow me to refresh everyone's memory how they beat us .Castys disallowed try was a try and we lost, refs again.
I actually agree with this thread but let's not pretend the club can't address this problem with the officials.

We had many chances to finish that game off, our own mistakes and misssed chances cost us. We are struggling to finish of games in the clutch, we also gave up a 30 point lead against the cows.
