Bear in Mind it is Josh Massoud
Tackle Five – D-day for SKD
Roosters stalwart Shaun Kenny-Dowall will learn whether he has a future with the club today. Desperate to confirm his future, Kenny-Dowall has asked for an indication on whether the Roosters intend to offer him a new deal by today.
Sadly for the Kiwi, who will live forever in Tricolour folklore after playing-out the 2013 grand final with a fractured jaw, the signs aren’t positive. Should he be forced out of Bondi, the 27-year-old will most likely continue his career at either Gold Coast or Canberra.

Still at the Roosters, and officials have tabled a ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ $400,000-a-year package to five eighth James Maloney. It’s a sizable pay-cut on the former NSW Origin star’s current salary, and he’s now looking closely at a move to either Manly or Cronulla.

If true we're going to have about 4 million spare in cap space in 2016 at this rate!

Just imagine us without both RTS and Maloney, we'll be absolutely ****ing average. Despite what many think about Jimmy, he's a crucial member of the team and there's no sign of a viable replacement.

Maloney is an interesting one, his variation in form is just too wide at the moment, near the top of the league in errors and missed tackles but also so important to our structure.

I wonder if POS/Robbo are looking to slightly reshape the squad after this season and will be willing to sacrifice SKD to bring in someone like a Greg Bird who yes is a complete knob but he brings a ball playing backrowers skillset that we don't really have at the club at the moment..

Great move by the Club if true!
Now we need Tupou gone also and we are back on track..
All 3 are living off there 2013 form and enough is enough, time for change.

$400K is not a slap in the face by any means. I think that is fair value for our club to pay even though others will offer him overs.
Will he go for the big pay day?
As for SKD I think he would take less than what he can get elsewhere but will the club be prepared to offer him something?

Bird doesn't fit into our no diving philosophy.

Greg Turd? But he dives. It's in his DNA. That's not going to go down well with some here.

                $400k for Jimmy?

                No wonder he looks disinterested.

Curious to know your thoughts on Chad Townsend from the Warriors as a replacement for Maloney.

not saying we will chase Bird specifically but if we do end up losing 3 out of RTS/SKD/Toups/Maloney I can certainly see POS/Robbo working the phones of some disgruntled players to try and secure some experienced hard heads for our pack for 2016.

Lose half our backline to sign some forwards? I doubt it.

It's almost as if we're trying to lose these players, $400,000 for Maloney and RTS? Are we going to make a big play for some players?

We can't compete with what Manly would offer BBQ especially if DCE does go. On form $400K is about right. RTS is a different story.
I'd put in an offer for Michael Gordon for a year or two. He won't be expensive and can take over goal kicking. It will give us a decent fullback until Mitchell is ready.
It will also free up more money for an extra decent player.

I agree , all we hear is how good osullivan is doing with our recruitment i dont agree , our Harold matts team finished dead last , our Sg ball side finished 2nd last , and our 20s dont look like they could fight there way out of a wet paper bag , IMO none of the current 20s squad on current form would crack it in1st grade , RtS wont backflip his decison , so we will lose either SKD MALONEY or TOUPS i shudder at the thought at there viable replacements based on the SO Called Depth at our club , that will be exposed soon with the rep commitments fast approaching we must win as many games from this point on as possible to stay in touch

We're going through a transitional period in our juniors, our SG Ball side who won the comp last year have all progressed on to the 20s age group and our 20s in now largely made up of 18 year olds. It's normal for teams to struggle when they've got a young side this is nothing new and certainly not a reflection of the talent that lies within either squad. It's just the circle of junior footy.

If you're at least going to disagree do it on the basis of honest argument.

POS has been great for us, no need to look any further than the first grade side & his latest find Taukieaho.

I would say if we lose all these players then there is definitely a plan in place. Our recruitment and coaching has been too good in recent years with Robbo on board for there not to be a reason.
Honestly though, compare our side to other teams. It is far better on paper. I wouldn't be surprised if this was all to ensure that we are able to keep Guerra, Cordner, Jennings etc for longer because we'll still be competitive without SKD, Maloney and RTS. It just brings our team back to that of Cowboys and Souths etc

I remember watching him play reserve grade for the sharks and always thought he had a lot of potential ut would make stupid mistakes. If we did buy him i think TR would turn him into a first class 5/8
