          There is no panic, Johnny.

          By staying down(like the other 15 teams do) we give them the opportunity to make the correct ruling.

          The club spends millions of $$$ on the best of everything to prepare us for each game yet we take the field with 22% chance of winning the penalty count.

            This club starts training our players to dive and milk they can have all my jerseys back.

            The code's a farking laughing stock with that piece of shit Stewart admitting he's trained to take a dive.

            It's not gamesmanship, its not a skill, its a stain on the game that takes everything about the gladiatorial aspect of it and makes it a mockery.

              The 'test' (described as more of a tool by most doctors) has been canned hasn't it? Don't the doctors just look at video for signs such as wobbly legs or a blow to the head causing somebody to be grounded without them trying to protect themselves on the way down?

              IMO most milking is just players taking too long to get up, having a sob and forcing the refs to review the footage while they take 5 minutes to get up. This generally happens when their team is up with only a couple of minutes to go. Often no penalty is given, but the clock runs out while they do it.

              The argument I heard on Roosters Radio (I forget who by) was that this could be classed as contrary conduct. IMO they should just stop the clock (and like soccer... add extra time to the clock when people have been wasting time intentionally.) That or let the opposing team play on.

              IMO it s*x because people are forcing the refs to review nothing situations in slow motion. Most tackles look pretty nasty and/or have a moment where part of the forearm touches the chin. So what? IMO the ref shouldn't be influenced by players going down. If he misses it and a player goes down then it's bad luck. 99% Of the time nothing was missed and the player's just milking it. If the player has serious concerns, it can get picked up by the match review panel.

              While I'm not a fan of the round ball game, it appears that we're moving towards more milking, while they are cutting it out of their game. Maybe we can learn from them?

                  You don't have to flop to milk a penalty. The Broncos twice got penalties because apparently the defence wouldn't clear the ruck so they can play the ball thus, they got the ball knocked out if their hands. Inglis and Luke do it too. I think Robbo sometimes fails in the art of gamesmanship. Ok don't dive but you can always get the defence to 'interfere' with your play of the ball.

                      I would be extremely disappointed if we started staying down. We can still win without it and it is all the more sweet if we do. Don't give in to the rest

                        Two things.

                        1. 22%, you're being generous.

                        2. The only people who lay down in public are porn stars doing a public gang bang or drunks. I'm going to safely presume that very few, if any, of the Roosters are the first and the second is relative.

                          There is a big difference lying down to milk penalties like Stewart last week, which we are all against, and getting penalties we DESERVE like Burgesses hit on sbw in the preliminary final where we got no penalty.. The lack of penalties we get shouldn't be compounded by Trents philosophy of jumping up to not draw a deserved penalty to us. I cant agree with his opinion that an indiscretion will get picked up in the match review and an offending player will then get sanctioned. Two things are wrong with this approach. Not all offences are citable so the offending player gets no penalty against him,(like Burgesses was deemed) and secondly if it is bad enough to be cited then the next team gets ALL the advantage of the players penalty and there has been not even a penalty in the game where the indiscretion occurred. Until the NRL gets serious and says any player that stays down has an automatic 10 minute off the field break, with one interchange being used up, we shouldn't play games with this self imposed additional handicap.

                            If we did I doubt we woud get anything anyway.In fact it wouldnt suprse me if we tried to milk penalties that the referees would decide to penalise us

                                I'd rather lose than stay down like some soft cock. If I ever see a roosters player go down like Glen Stewart last week I'd be very disappointed.
