Hi guys, me and Ms Loiner will be making the trip to Melbourne for this weekends game.

As I've never been before, has anyone got any tips, ie pre game pubs and whatnot?

Where do the Roosters contingent usually sit?

        Not for you...beer snob!!

BTW U kyboshed a meet n greet with a few old friend before Bunnies game by suggesting pubs around Central instead of around homebush which was handy. The pubs around Homebush were not good enough...for Lord of the Manor Kingsgrove Loiner.

Ok for u but a lot of supporters come in with kids and from country and outer Sydney areas oh wished we were like you ..

A few of the guys wanted to meet up with Dan WRL but had to travel from western Sydney etc. So they canned it..

You got that right pal, the pubs around Homebush are crapola.

Anyway, I'm assuming you got nothing on Melbourne.....

Young and Jackson's in Federation Square is good. On the corner of Swanston and Flinders Street.

Also closer to AAMK Park a series of pubs and the like on Swan Street off Punt Road in Richmond. The Meatball n Wine Bar and Richmond club Hotel I recommend. But there is 5 or 6 in vicinity. Also Cricketers Arms or Royal Hotel on punt Road are close to AAMI. Of course the Crowne complex for the night before or after the game .

Don't know where Roosters sit as never been to a game in bleak city.

            Hope this helps.

The Cricketers Arms has always been fun when I have been down there for the Swans on Grand Final day. It is on Punt rd just across from the MCG and Punt Oval so fairly close to AMMI, not sure what is like on non AFL match day though.
As for eating out seeing I usually stay at Carlton I usually go to Tiamo on Lygon st http://www.tiamo.com.au/ , just basic Italian but done well, it has been there for years and always been good except the last visit it was a bit ordinary but I think it was due to them getting ready to close as it was quite late. Queen Victoria markets is worth a look, it has the usual trashy nic nac section but the food hall is worth a look and a lot of places have free samples, there is a place there where I always get a bratwurst roll smothered in sauerkraut onions and mustard, just so yummo.
