He gave away a few penalties and through the ball away a couple of times but overall a solid performance.
Read the last sentence again. How is that anything but a poor performance? Thaiday had his number and he lost the plot.

The way I saw it, was his finger touched it the ball, the ball then went backwards and hit the crossbar. Isn't that fair play?

        Gotta love the Morley factor.

Bugger the refs, give us none in return anyway.

Yeah I know about composure mate. It's usually shown by our halves. Not an aggressive guy who only knows one way like Jared. I don't like the penalties either. But I think you are expecting a little too much from him on that play 😀. Jared wouldn't even know what tackle it was.
He should know what the tackle count was, that's the issue and a by--product of playing on tilt all night.

I love Jared and we need his aggression but his focus was on Thaiday and not the scoreboard.

Jared's aggressive, passionate nature is his strength but also his weakness when he is baited and becomes involved in a running battle with grubs like of Thaiday, Ennis, Bird etc. He lost his focus and concentration on Friday night and risked drawing penalties or suspension.
We need an seasoned enforcer (ex origin, international) like LOD was for us in 2013. He would have jumped in and made it his personal mission to get in Thaiday's face the whole game. I know that we don't lie down for penalties, wrestle or do all the bad stuff that other teams do but the team's gotta start standing up and protecting each other when the refs arent going to do their job.
Im still dirty that Burgess was allowed to get away with that hit on SBW in the preliminary final and there was no square up (Morley would never have let him get away with it under his watch).

I love it. Some entertainment in a game that's gone as soft as lawn bowls. Maybe even softer.
