I was sad but then the way people and 'fans' have been carrying on made me get over it pretty quickly. These things happen.

Agreed and I don't buy the 'we developed him' argument. He learned how to play as a kid in NZ. He gave us his services at probably the best price ANY NRL club will ever get him for. He's been a good kid and deserves our support throughout the season.

We didn't develop Jenko and Fergo and yet we get 2 of the best centres in the game. Go figure! Fergo and Jenko together are probably on less than $800k... we coulda lost a key player (SKD, Jenko, Fergo, Toops, Maloney....etc) and kept RTS. Or, we could keep guys who are willing to play around the $500k mark and make the standard clear - we don't pay $800k for players! SBW was on less... MATE!

At least he didn't do a Sammy P on us!! That was a dog act when we were already on the ropes. But... business is business. We didn't want his fat brother so lost him.

IMO RTS did what I woulda done and doesn't deserve disrespect/hatred. It's a pity after Mini carried him under his wing for 2 seasons and warmed him into the fullback gig. But... to be fair, RTS got where he is on his own merit and has given us a boot load of skill/commitment at a discounted rate. Respect Roger... all the best! Now win us another premiership in 2015!!!

Gragra....I have a strong feeling that RTS will play out of his skin for the rest of the year and want to part ways with his mates with a premiership.

We need to enjoy this year with him here and worry about next year when it arrives.

I'm sure our power brokers still have an ace up the sleeve.

Hopefully as others have said we are better placed to retain Jimbo now.

We still have the LHS of the origin backline, 2 former blues halves (and maybe again this year), Fergo will play origin again, 2 origin backrowers, an NZ centre, 2× NZ front rowers, a hooker who will replace Cam Smith, and 2 future origin players (Napalm and The Undertaker) in our 17. And we have Latrell, SOH and too some extent Meehan coming through.

The future is still bright for us, it is still a glamour line-up. Most other fans only dream of this type of stuff that we have.

I understand but doesn't mean I'm happy about it primarily because another could have been primed for such an important position and he could have lived on the wing for one last year.

While the money is good and hard to resist the next three years will be the most formulative in his career. Auckland will bring him down. While there is a proud Moari culture, the place almost beats itself into submission. I speak from experience here. Again, nothing against the wonderful people or place it just has its own universe that it operates from.
When Sam Tomkins went it was a huge signing. Best FB going around and he was very good but he has done nothing at the Warriors.

Anyway it is what it is and the one thing I am sure of is the club will survive.

Seriously, we should make a bid for Jenko's brother and have the right brothers playing for us.

Jenkos brother will only play again this year if injuries come into play, and would come cheap.

I love the idea... he would make the starting line-up in most other clubs.

For me the most dissapointing thing about the whole situation is that the primary reason he is leaving is that Tomkins and/or his girlfriend is homesick. Picture this - a random girl who misses the UK is the underlying reason as to why RTS won't be a rooster anymore. McFadden said it himself - if Tomkins didn't want out, they wouldn't have even looked at RTS.
