  • OK so RTS is gone. What do we next?

He's gone & I am shattered. My son is in tears..........hell if I wasnt at work I'd be in the same boat. We now immediately need to plan for life post RTS.

I have read that we should drop RTS but that would be foolish & not what's best for business. We have to keep him at fullback and I hope he continues his awesome form. Our premiership window is shutting fast and this will be the last year for a while that we will be a very real chance to win it.

Assuming we now have money to play with this is what I would do in order.

    1. Extend Latrell Mitchell
    2. Extend Jennings
    3. Extend Ferguson
    4. Re-sign Maloney
    5. Release Meehan & Kennedy ASAP

If we have enough money I'd also want to re-sign SKD however that would be my last priority. Forget Folau, forget Hayne, forget SBW..........forget any big name - they are all pipe dreams.

No not at all however he is not the only player currently in first grade we will lose. We will also lose some fringe players that will impact our depth - look at our prop depth right now. I'm not saying we wont be competitive, just saying our premiership window is drawing to a close.

I'm not entirely sure if losing RTS automatically means that we go out and keep SKD/Toups/Maloney, it might be a chance to rework the squad a little bit, we are lacking depth especially in the 2nd row, just looking at the NYC squad we are now forced to play Taane Milne in the 2nd row because Meehan is suspended and Leuluaii is injured.

I agree with that. I wouldn't keep Tupou & I'd only keep SKD as a last priority. I'm all for depth signings.

Latrell will be fast tracked with a plan B in place if he doesn't work out.

Our next step should be the immediate sacking of whoever let this happen.

Losing RTS is nothing short of the biggest **** up our club has made in the 20 years I've been supporting them.

I know where you are coming from pump but we have some young guns coming through and if they live up to their potential we will still be very competitive.
The bulk of the current squad are signed up. SKD and Toups are covered. BBQ is an unknown but SoH can be one out of the box. He is a much better playmaker for starters as well as a better defender and can kick goals. Latrell has enormous raps on him and hopefully in a couple of years we will be saying Roger who. We will still have a top 4 team next year.
I have great confidence in our leaders.
