Don't understand this, there were a bunch of players out there making stupid errors, and the sharks forwards absolutely steamrolled our pack. Whole team looked incredibly lazy, very concerned about our depth of front row forwards

Surely u can't be serious with this post. The sharks pack didn't streamroll ours. They just controlled possession and there halfs had better composure that our panicky halfs. We were right in the game until Pearce drops that ball that would have gone out of the full. We would have got a penalty and got inside the sharks 20 meter line. Instead the sharks scored in the next set and wrap up the game. Pearce had a shocker, u are deluding yourself if u think otherwise.

Have never been so angry at a game. Full stop.

Not with the players but the clear rort that was on.

Yep, blame the ref for Pearce's dropped balls, panicky passes or Maloneys poor decisions out there. The penalty count was 6-4, hardly significant.

This forum is always good for a laugh. You guys have probably the best squad in the league but you're not going to win every match. Instead of accepting this, every time I come onto the site I see most of you just blaming every loss on the refs. Pearce's pass and the pass to Tupou at the end were both very clearly forward.

Cronulla were due for a win, you guys were missing key players, and the players that did show up were poor (excluding RTS). It happens. Nobody is out to get you.

Just watched the game now without knowing the score(wish i did) whether our backs or forwards were the problem in the first 30m i still dont know, toops, skd Maloney all lost the ball in simple plays, or got driven back, which kept giving sharks possession in our 40, but maybe i blame the forwards for not actually helping take those runs instead. Our forwards seem to get outplayed by the big packs in the league hopefully JWH and friend can go a long way to fixing that.

penalties would always help, but in that first half, our dropped balls and poor 5th tackle options didn't give us a chance to get one, that is what wore us out, another disgraceful display against the sharks becoming a common occurrence.

Danish I noticed that right from the start. But I think that is just attitude thing. They were not there mentally today.

What I have never understood is how u cannot be up for Cronulla, despite how bad they can be. They always bash us. But I honestly knew this would happen. I kept reading on here how we were gonna rack up a huge score. I didn't believe a bit of it. I knew if we took them lightly they would belt us. And I believe our forwards should be embarrassed with what they gave the club today.

And honestlyim off to Suncorp next week and if there is a repeat it will be a cricket score. We were lucky Cronulla don't score much. A decent side would have put 30 on us.

I don't believe we took them lightly mate.

We never seem to play good against sides like The Tardpoles, spoiling arsewipes, who drag us down to their level and beat us with expierence of winning ugly.

Let us play footy and we will rarely ever lose. But niggle and slow us down and it breaks our rhythm and we get that shit today.

Everyone keeps telling me how good Napalm and GregEvans and Co are gonna be but they aren't consistent enough as yet. Add Loo to that list. Victa isn't a leader. MLK would've been handy today IMO.

The past two seasons $BWs skill gets us home in such games. Now we need to learn to grind and win ugly. Takes time I guess.

Still some positives RTS is a freak. Maubs is a man you'd love in the trenches. Friendly and JWH will return and stiffen up the middle.

I'm hoping we turn around and take some frustration out on The Wankos.

Blaming the 1/2s when we lose that much pill and have to defend that hard is the easy way out, although both were pretty ordinary, but the usual tone of some fans in here always look for the scapegoat. At least SKiDdy has been given a reprieve. For a week at least.

I was doing a whole Schindler's List thing. It was on cable when I got home early. It's true, I'd rather watch a film done by Christ killers than watch the Roosters lose.

Anyway, there's not much to add to this thread really, other than that watching the game live it looked as though the tactic for most of the match was to grind a win in an arm wrestle. I mean until HT our defense on our line was superb. We had Cronulla devoid of ideas. And when the ball did turn over, we were fairly good at kicking the ball downfield and asking Cronulla to work it out. The deep 6th tackle bombs were also used to establish field position.

The lop-sided approach to enforcing the rules was the difference. We were fatigued with all of the defending we had to endure due to our own clumsiness, but no respite was given regardless of how short Cronulla's 10 was, or how much they slowed-down the ruck.

In short we missed Jared, the refs were atrocious and the boys were too slow to adjust to a Plan B.

They did so much flopping, crowding, pushing, coming up with the foot and second efforts we should have had a double figure penalty count. But we got none of them.

Amen to all the above. I actually wrote similar in this thread before the game started. After seeing a few posts about how we were going to rack up a cricket score.

I agree my 1 post friend. It's not always the Refs. As bad as we were, the Guppies could still only manage to just beat us and we could have stole a win. There are games , especially on a nice sunny day, where we just wanna play footy and are not prepared to grind it out against a spoiling team like Cronulla.
Anyway, early days. And yes this place is always good for a laugh.Or a cry. But peoples weeks are destroyed by the outcome of a footy match. 😖
