My opinion of this is that Graham went to stop the kick. He didn't do it with his shoulder. He didn't do it with his legs. He didn't while Reynolds was in mid air. He wasn't even that late. He did what you normally do when you charge down a kick. The fact that he missed and it eventuated into an injury, to me it's not a penalty much like any other tackle that may cause any injury. Had that happened to one of ours, I think the referee would have judged that as accidental contact without any penalty awarded.

this is how I saw it too, before contact is made he has his arms extended in a charge down attempt it's the accidental follow through from that attempt that creates the contact which in turn creates the injury, bottom line Reynolds dosent get hurt it's play on its the interpretation of the rule that is creating the debate here, for the record wet day massive dogs pack leaving it to last Min to tie up a game they were always in control of dumb footy dogs

Let's put things into context - what would have been the result had it been one of our players taking that shot at field goal?
99.9% of the time, the ref would have ruled play on.

And for the record, that penalty was very far from clear cut - despite the many here saying it was. It was within the refs' discretion to rule Graham was attempting a charge down at the ball and was not playing at Reynolds, and that contact was accidental in playing at the ball and not the kicker.

So they had the power to exercise discretion and they used that power to get the wabbits over the line. Then they exercised their discretion to not give dogs a chance to equalise with a penalty kick from the restart for what actually was a 100% penalty. Not like we aren't used to it.

I think the refs and the NRL made a statement tonight and I hear them loud and clear: We will manage games and results as we see fit, in broad daylight, and there ain't a damn thing any of you can do about it.

Even if it was a fair penalty, what about the constant leg ups they get every week? Inglis dropped the ball cold and was given a penalty. Morris should have been given a penalty and wasn't. That was just in the last five minutes.

There was no leg up last week against Parra lol and this week they were 5-1 penalties behind when the Dogs got out to a 10-0 lead and I think possession was 80/20. Both penalties for the Luke and Reynolds incident were spot on. If we are talking about leg ups, the Dogs got a soft penalty right in front of the post with 7 minutes on the clock when they were leading 16-14 and didn't take the kick, dumb dumb dumb. The dogs were the better team but they are a dumb team and will not win the title this year because they have dumb play makers and Neanderthal forwards.

How hopeless is the bulldogs' attack? The Morris twins are great value, but apart from that they have nothing. The number of times they were camped in Souffs quarter and never looked like having any plays to make.

And yet they were still too good for Souffs (ignoring the artificial result).

We may just beat all the other teams and the refs again this year like in 2013.

Don't be so stupid as to believe just because $ouff$ lost there was no leg up. $ouff$ were just rubbish against Parra, got a small hill (as opposed to their normal mountain) of help and still could not win.
The surprising game, in my opinion, was the game against the Roosters where I thought although the refereeing was at its std low level, was reasonably fair.

I don't see what you're getting at mate. To me, the penalty was very clear cut. It doesn't matter if it was accidental or not. You make contact with the legs of a kicker and it's a penalty. If that had happened to us you could guarantee fans would be up in arms calling for a penalty to protect Pearce/Maloney

I'm happy for them to have awarded that a penalty. Do I think it's a penalty, no, but now they have to be consistent. Every time a kicker is hit, there should be a penalty because that's the standard they have set

That's the 'HUGE' problem R6, the refs/video refs/touchies are all following the nrl's orders which is for to do whatever it takes for $ouff$ to win. This means that they will all get rewarded by the nrl for yesterdays result. It is all a massive f**king disgrace!!

Souths were very lucky to win. The field goal penalty was the correct decision. Morris should have received a penalty after Millard's push in the back at the kickoff , however after copping a verbal barrage I suspect the refs didn't want to give the dogs any favours.

The Inglis penalty was a dropped ball, but don't recall any points coming from it.

Clearly the better side lost, but to obsess about the last 2 minutes hides the fact the dogs should have closed the game out earlier.
