  • Paul Crawley questions Roosters roster

    http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/spo...-1227279974680

Suggestive, insinuating, embellished points, key facts left out and a general lack of any purpose to the story.

I think sometimes people on here go over the top with some of the stuff written/said about our club but this is nothing more or less that a shot at our clubs integrity.

Never picked him as someone to run with such a one sided story to be perfectly honest. Especially one like this with so much slander.

      - No mention of the fact our success has only been over 2 years (still turning over contracts from before our success began, e.g Daniel Tupou who he describes as a marquee player).
      - No mention of SBW & Mini leaving onl to be replaced internally by RTS & Liu, a perfect example of the salary cap working, we were just one step ahead and prepared for it... no recognition for POS & Robbo.
      - No mention of the fact that we haven't been active in the market for the past 2 seasons outside of signing fringe players and Fergo looking for a second chance (another perfect example of the salary cap working).

He's done a good job at reinforcing the insecurities of other fans that we're on a different playing field. Despite having made only 2 finals series in the 8 years prior to Robinson's arrival at the club.

Paul Crawley... a name our club shouldn't forget any time soon.

These articles are uncomprehendingly stupid, they disregard facts to promote their own bullshit agendas.

At least other journo's like Rothfield and Kent aren't like this.

Like I have said in the past. Who cares. Embrace The Hate!! They hate us for one reason only. We are a great Club and they are jealous of our success.
Crikey, I got 2000 more Twitter followers than Crawley!

The article is directed 99% at Roosters and 1% Souffs but he is not accusing us of cheating... Lol

I suspect TurkeyNeck Shane Richardson had some involvement in this article. He's looking at changes to the cap/implementing a draft for talent equalisation purposes.
What better a way to brainwash & stir up league fans whilst driving his agenda!

Funny how there was never an article in the News Ltd papers about the salary cap of the Broncos or Storm when they were at the height of their powers.

Or Canterbury Funny how the only two clubs actually exposed for systematic rorting of the salary cap either jumped ship to news run super league or were a news ltd owned and run

Awful singling out of one club with no related facts to support his accusations.

Making the overall point is ok but...to attack us exclusively with no context?

                            Just horrible journalism.

                              17. Sam Kasiano

If there's an example of the salary cap not working it's when a club has a team of which 2 thirds were bought at peak prices on the open market. It's not one where only 5 out of the top 17 didn't debut with the club.

But then that would actually be writing and article about the failings of the salary cap, something I don't think this article ever intended to do....
