  • Great start by Matt Mcilwrick.

I thought he really set us up with a great platform. His work was sharp, quick & his defence was very solid. We seemed to slow down a bit when he left the field for Aubbo. Very impressed.

He was very good and provided sharp service.

He played it conservatively with no dummy half scoots himself... I hope he incorporates that though as all hookers need that in their kitbag to keep the defence challenged.

He did come up with one scoot that was pretty good

Fitting in quite nicely. Not over playing his role IMO. Robbo must be very pleased

          Considerably better than Srama.

So that worked out well for us.

              Not flashy,

very sharp & quick with the service

also quick when fakes one way & switch the other

              highly accurate with the pass

he picks his time, that scoot he allowed himself was a luxury

can tell the coach wanted him to be conservative,

Pearce & Maloney obviously appreciated the service...

There were parts of the game where I actually forgot that Friendy was injured. He even looks a bit like him. All he needs now is a couple of tattoo sleeves.

Looked superfit throughout the entire match.

I was thoroughly impressed with him. Good and sharp passing game. I know many of you rate Hastings highly but McIIwrick's passing game is superior from hooker

All of a sudden an injury to Jake Friend is not fatal to our Premiership chances. Like it was last year you could argue.

His service was very crisp and he's as fit as anyone. Great addition to the squad.

If he can provide a performance like that everyday time, he will prove to be a very handy buy. Quite classy and honest worker by the looks of it.

Very impressed with him and only going to get better the more he feels comfortable with his new team mates.

Very good first game. I foresee a future where it's a half and half swap with him and Friend.
