  • Playing Hungry Hungry Roosters

At the game tonight, through eyes almost closed due to heat exhaustion, it became very clear that our boys are hungry.

I mean 2013 hungry. Bondi Wall hungry.

Our pigs were like an unstoppable tidal wave.

And they are incredibly fit as well.

We had no ball in the second half at all and they couldn't make a dent.

Strap yourselves in kids. It will be a fun ride.

Great post JT and I'm looking forward to this season unfolding. The fitness levels are evident though I'm hoping for a much cooler day next Sunday against the refs darlings.

Someone was trying to argue with me last night after the game that Souffs are much fitter than us. Absolutely ridiculous.

Souffs are always going to look fit when they continually get marched upfield.

                  10 penalties in Brisbane.

We got 2 up there last year.

But 10 is Souffs minimum amount every game. I suspect they'll get 12 against us so our defence will have to be amazing again.

No team could get near us in an arm wrestle. We saw that in the Prelim when we were belting them 12 nil before a penalty was blown.

Then the refs went bang bang bang, with the Rabbits scoring 3 straight tries after penalties, and an 11-5 or so count later our title defence was over.

The refs no we can't be beaten in a fair set for set slugfest. So watch for them to make their mark again.

I pray you're wrong Tommy but I won't be holding my breath. Is there any other sport in the world where officials have such an influence on the outcome?

I only saw the highlights of the match. However, what I saw was impressive and the match reviews have been positive. I loved Jennings crunching try saving tackle in the second half. Very impressed we kept them to only one try in a match which was played in trying conditions.
