I think that if posts are legal, and not defamatory, they should be allowed to be posted here.
Admin, mods, site owner, to decide what is allowed of course.

        Just my opinion.

I can't understand did she contact the police via 000, go to the police,
how did they become involved they would have had to see her & she
would have needed to make a statement or had marks consistant with
being abused, why didn't they take pictures then & a full statement,

I was physically & emotionally abused from the age of 6 till I was in
my 20's by a very abusive stepfather, in those days there was nowhere
to go, it wasn't untill I met my late Hubby I was safe, I spent so much
time at my grandparents & future inlaws.

No matter what comes out of the court he is an abuser & must be sacked
          no questions asked.

In this case there is somewhere for her to go...to the cops, make a statement, go to court, sit in the witness box and tell all.

Then his defence lawyer would start asking a whole lot of questions...as his client could well be facing many years in prison, as Nick Darcy was.

A whole lot of questions, the ins and outs of everything leading up to the alleged assault, and that day.
          He'd be looking for 'provocation'.
He'd be looking for a reason for the alleged offence.
          Many questions there would be.
He'd likely be going over the relationship with a microscope.

Then the accused would have his turn in the witness box.
Anything and everything she did or said on that night, and maybe other nights, days...could be told to the world.

Defence lawyers can be ruthless, it's their job.

It'd be all over the media, every little detail...a la Mercedes Corby v Ch7...Cops v Nick Darcy.

It's on nearly every news bulletin now, and radio hosts are talking about it still on this Good Friday morning, and there's not even a trial.

At the time he was a Roosters player.

The Roosters-hating media would be there in force, every day.

Only she can decide where she goes from here...it's up to her, it's her life, she has to make the choices.

Who knows what went on in their lives before this night and on this night.
He moved from Townsville for fear of losing her.
Maybe he's always treated her like an 'exalted goddess', maybe not.

There are many questions and imagined scenarios...basically guesses.

They have to find a reason to get rid of him - and they will.

                Seems previous breaches are enough.

but then Carney would have to get the same treatment? what other breaches has Watts been involved with?

look i hate Watts as much as anyone else, but there seems to be some double standards creeping in?

Nah, two different cases, as Noyce said.

Don't know what actual past breaches, but Noyce said there have been, and Watts had been warned.
Maybe it also has something to do with the alleged assault.

The Board has 5 choices, Noyce said...ranging from a fine to termination of contract.

When clubs are looking for salary cap relief for new signings, not a good idea to be breaching the rules.

Its a domestic violence incident. Unlike other criminal cases, Police do not require a signed statement from a victim in order to prosecute. Its a bonus, but not a necessity.

This was brought into law because so many women were scared to give evidence against their husbands and would not sign or make statements. Therefore Police are allowed to rely on photos, other witnesses etc.
