I feel the like arguably the biggest decision this club has had to and will have to make in a long time.

Big fine no suspension. He broke club policy...didn't hit anyone, drink drive, piss on anyone, or jump on cars.

Once again I hope the matter is resolved in the best solution for everyone.

We as fans get emotional and get caught up in the hype of the media circus, the press conference today made it sound like they will get the best result out. Whether that's suspending Carney indefinitely and getting him fixed or what not. I think playing footy would be more beneficial to him then having alot of free time on his hands too. Also needs the right people around him when it was revealed that Watts was txting him to get him to come out when Carney was just going to stay home.

True...he is not a thug on or off the field and it makes me cry to see him go but I am fed up with the bad publicity.

Agree with this, but I would get him out of Sydney as well to be out of the spotlight - Atherton may be a good option again. If he was to work in an inner city sandwich shop, the media would be in there every day.

Keep him, suspend him indefinitely until he has got control of his demons. Assist him in battling those demons. If this takes a month - great. If this takes all season - so be it. If he isn't making any progress by the end of the season - cut him loose.

In the end, it was the players, the club and the coach he let down. All of these parties should have a say in how this is handled.

This is exactly what I think should happen too. If we let him go what will happen? 6 months down the track he sign with another team and we will be wooden spooners again. He has let people down. I understand completely why people want him gone. I am inclined to have him stood down, get him help and see him return towards the end of the season or 2012. Would I say this if he was not the talent that he undeniably is? Probably not but I think he is worth it. A really believe he is experiencing some serious mental issues at the moment and he needs to own the fact that he is an alcoholic. Just my two cents ...

Agree FF - get him far away from Sydney and all the bad influences.

I can't decide. I'm sick of the rubbish off the field but I'm sick of the Roosters being rubbish on the field. Ultimately, I don't have the facts so I can't be definitive here. One thing I WILL say with certainty is that I NEVER wanted watts back at the Roosters. How is JAubs looking now?
