today i find that my sense of humour has deserted me. Had a fight with the wife (words only- not the Watts kinda fight) and all this crap in the media has left me gutted. I really really hate being so exposed to the kind of attack from the usual suspests (afterbirthhead, hadley....) and not to mention all the sh!t from other fans.....


Part of me wants to say fark em all- keep carney and hope we blowem away, but now i'm not so sure. maybe we need to re-build our culture and really bring in players that are more professional.

Would care if the player was a noname u20s player instead of Todd Carney? The bloke is dragging our club through the mud. He has had chance after chance, Time to go Todd. No player is bigger than the club.

Do you think the club would have signed a noname u20s player with a history of problems with alcohol as long as Carney's?

Well we won't be winning the comp this year thanks to carney.

Carney is injured...just bad luck.

You might wanna look at the performances of the rest of the players in the team this year...and the refereeing.

We made the Grand Final last year...good performances by all the players, none better than Todd Carney, Dally M medal winner.

Wooden-spooners the year before.

He made one 'innocent' mistake this year off the field, drove the next morning when he thought because he'd slept there'd be no problem.

"A little mistake" Gallop called it...which of course it was.


Now last Sat he went out to a niteclub and lounge hotel and had a few drinks...when he shouldn't have.
Other players were with him.
He made a pledge to the club and the NRL...sobriety.

Where has Watmough had to make the same pledge to the NRL?

He broke the pledge, while trying to beat alcohol addiction thru AA and help from the Salvation Army.

No easy task for a young man...let alone one living in a fishbowl.

When he made the pledge the club should have removed him from where he was living and found him some new accommodation with a non-drinking older mentor.
It didn't...it left him in the frat house!!!

Now look what's happened.

Was he drunk in public last Sat night?
Did he assault anyone?
Did he murder or rape anyone?
Did he drink-drive?
Did he verbally abuse anyone from the public?
Did he urinate in public?

Answer: NO!


His big 'crime' was to break the pledge...and not go to Goulburn as intended, or stay at home alone.

For which, as a parent punishes a sinning child, so he must be disciplined.

But sacked from the club? his life ruined, footy is all he has left.
NO!!!
