  • Does Carney actually want an NRL career?

given his actions since the end of 2010 season the question must be asked whether Carney really wants to be an NRL player.

during the 4 nations tournament all he was interested in doing was hitting the piss, during the offseason all he was interested in doing was hitting the piss with Myles/Mason/Watts/Conn/Guerra etc.

after his brush with a jail sentence all he is interested in doing is lying to the club about his intentions to get his act together, asking for time off to see his mum and then suprise suprise hitting the piss again.

I actually feel we as a club made the situation worse by not suspending him when he got done for DUI, it was clear to everybody he has a massive problem and we chose to bury our heads in the sand and give him a slap over the wrist.

Who at the club in their right mind allowed a person being treated for depression and a recovering alcoholic live together.

now it seems he has even lost the desire to play football if reports are true he didn't want to take the field against the Warriors are true.

its no longer a matter of his football ability, his personal wellbeing must now come first even if it means he never lacing on a boot in the NRL again.

Having him focus on playing would help his problem with alcohol. Suspending him allows him more time to dwell about the drink.
