I understand where Dolphin is coming from.
The most offensive thing about this whole situation is the way Watts assaulted the woman in question and given our lax treatment of abusive men in the past (Cherrington comes to mind), it makes me wonder what goes through some of these numbskulls brains (or lack thereof). I admire these sportsmen but their lack of respect for females disgusts me.

If Noyce had balls Carney will be sacked.

Noyce is a man not prone to making snap decisions, ...rather he's cool, calm, rational.
Just the type of man I want running the Roosters as CEO.
Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
Sack your biggest star...
...for having a drink while undergoing AA rehab.
Is that now the benchmark of sackable offences at the club and NRL HQ?
NRL is under threat from AFL...especially in the juniors.
This is not the time for Rugby League to self-destruct.

Sacking Carney is a big call and no stakeholder in their right mind would really want that. After all, what has he done and I'm not sure how it works here in Australia but we seem to follow the US lead on many aspects including law but in America if a person is diagnose as an alcoholic and is getting treatment, the employer cannot sack them unless they have done something big. Falling off the wagon is a mere part of the recovery process. So what did Carney do? Are we going to sack him cause he had a beer or two. He wasn't urinating with Watmough out on the weekend so perhaps lets just give Carney a break because the only thing he has broken is a promise, not the law unless the magistrate has ordered him not to have any alcohol. That's all.

Exactly!
My crystal ball says that if we sack Carney he'll be another 'Ricky Walford'...recover completely from injury, be signed by another club, and haunt us for another decade.
You'd need a truckload of note paper to list all the times we've been beaten in matches by "Easts rejects".
Des O'Reilly is one that springs to mind.
Only a seriously-misguided person would sack Carney over this.
Most of the people screaming for Carney to be sacked are likely supporters of other clubs who are trying to get an advantage over us by having him removed from the NRL.

Its just the GEN Y pests with mainstream tattoos. Its part of life now not just in this football team. Concentration spans of ants, thats why there is no consisitency. Too many big heads. The fact that Myles was seen talking to the Gold coast is a worry. I'd like to see him farked off.

A player's attitude starts off the field and is carried on the field in the form of self-discipline and spirit. Out of this comes confidence and self-belief. Roosters management needs a good shake-up and wake up and look at the disciplined clubs and take notice of the way they manage their players off-field behaviour. The coach plays a huge part in the process, Bennett and Bellamy have the ability to mentor players to bring out the very best in them as individuals and as team players. The rot has been allowed to spread for far too long now, it's come to a point where there needs to be a wholesale change in the way our club is managed.. or self-destruct and perish!Last edited by Chicka Wong; 04-18-2011, 01:03 PM.
