The thing that has me really perplexed, given that Carney has his problems and is skating on the thinnest of ice and is a cat that has used 8 of his lives already, I can't understand how the club does not have this kid on the tightest of leashes ?
They should be sitting on him, especially given that he is not playing at the moment and does not have an upcoming game to focus on.
Instead he's given the room to hang around a notorious trouble maker whose antecedants the club would be well aware of !
What do the powers that be at our club do when they go out for the night, give their kids some matches and tell them to amuse themselves for the evening ?
Granted he is an adult and is supposed to be mature enough to make his own decisions ....but obviously, he is not !

He's under 25, male...his brain is not fully developed...ask the psychologists who were interviewed on the radio station about our young drug smugglers on death row.
19, 22, and 23 when arrested, from memory.
In the eyes of bondi-boy-ilk he's still a kid.
He clearly needs to be in the constant company of older and responsible people who can guide him along the path to continued success on the field, and success off it.

The Men of League.

I've bought many of the Men of League badges at matches.
Todd Carney is 'Man of League' isn't he?
He needs help, doesn't he?
Well what about some help and guidance for him from The Men of League Foundation, eh?

What does the NRL do for the Roosters, exactly?
What was that first penalty against the Roosters for last night?...

When he was in Atherton, he had that pub owner (can't recall his name) keeping an eye on him, basically being a mentor or fatherly figure.
Everyone thought he had turned the corner and when he came back to Sydney he was just given total freedom. Unfortunately giving the young bloke total freedom (without a mentor) to hang around other young party boys has pushed him straight back to his pre-Atherton ways.

You can if you're clever enough.
Horse whisperers can do wonders.
And what might be Mr Carney's crime be this time?
Submitting to a drink temptation when not supposed to?
Oooo, call the AFP, quickly!
If a bull is in a china shop causing havoc, whose fault is it, exactly?

And look how many people are totally shocked by it all!
No Harvard degree for this one either.
Gee, if as a young man I hadn't been packed off to 'finishing school' and guided by a 'maker of men/gentlemen' mentor, and then had a good woman dropped in my life from the heavens above, I shudder to think where I would've ended up in life.
Shudder.

Try playing to empty stadiums.
...and having a zero membership list.
"Fairweather" sponsors...baaah!

If my club sacks someone, anyone for drinking alcohol then i want nothing at all to do with this club. Carney has done nothing wrong, if he is sacked and you people allow it, then you are condoning this wrong. I've had this whole ruled-by-media world, dont people think for themselves anymore ? Murdoch and his lackies can lick my arse :P

A self-confessed alcoholic drinking means he has to be stood down immediately OVP, club has no choice really as mentally that means he's lost control of his life. I'd be shocked if he was sacked over it though - that could send the guy right over the cliff which would be negligent on the club's behalf.

He's on a program, is attending AA, and the Salvation Army is helping him.
Our club claims it helps young players and guides them in education/life?
Well, Todd Carney is their latest challenge.
Are they up to the battle?, that is the question.
Keep losing games longterm, no star players, and there will be an 'empty' Stadium...nothing surer.

Are others players drinking alcohol?
Any of them undiagnosed alcoholics?
Drinking alcohol is legal.
