  • Time to do a greenberg

We need to change the culture at our club no doubt about it. I admire what Greenberg did for the bulldogs who lets face it had massive image problems. He chose to only recruit players who were good people and didnt simply buy them because he wanted a premiership instantly but rather build a culture that would eventually evolve into one.

I am involved with the Dolphins and we have a great culture. Dont always win the comp but certainly have had major success through this.

Time to change.....for real this time

I know I am over it

I wouldn't call Ennis a good person, nor Corey Payne. Two lowlife grubs.

At least they keep their noses clean Off-field. The day i hear about them doing dumb ass stuff, i'll change my mind. With that said, the Dogs also have Tandy.

I agree actually. It's heading quickly to that point. Last year just looks like an anomaly compared to the past five or six seasons. I prayed and hoped that we actually had lived up to the hype and had turned the corner but it just looks like we were lucky - both on the field and off the field. There is a massive culture problem at the club - incidents in the hotel AND the motel, player performance, alcohol-fuelled events, too much player power, coaches never seeing out contracts etc etc etc. The whole slate needs to be wiped clean. All of it.

          WHY IDRIS FLED DOGS

IN THEIR own way the Bulldogs have painted Jamal Idris as a mercenary for choosing the Gold Coast dollars over what was on offer at Belmore. Now for the truth. I had it on good authority that some 12 months ago there would be no way Idris would stay at Canterbury – that was before a single cent had been offered by the Titans, Nathan Tinkler or anyone else. The reason? The culture of the Dogs club. For legal reasons, I can’t give you the full picture, and Idris will never back it up publicly – suffice to say that Dogs fans should start to question why so many good players are leaving.

Chief executive Todd Greenberg is not from the old school that still wields influence over the club, and he can’t be blamed for Idris’s departure. But he should avoid making statements about the reasons Idris left and blaming a lack of coin.

The Dogs have money to make a play for James Graham, but didn’t see the value in throwing extra dollars at Idris – a massive drawcard. The last drawcard they had was Sonny Bill Williams. SBW wanted an extra $100,000 a year to stay at the club because he felt undervalued. He didn’t get it and walked out. In a code where players are chastised by clubs for having a point of view, Idris is prepared to sing and dance on live television. Idris is a massive loss for the Dogs in every sense. One day the penny will drop at Belmore, but how many Sonny Bills and Jamals will have to leave for the message to get through? The Dogs remain blighted by Stone Age attitudes behind closed doors, and it will cost them again and again.

I don't get what your trying to say. From that article it doesn't say that their players are getting drunk and getting into mischief. With us its every month another drama. If the Dogs management want to play hardball with their players to achieve a goal, well it's up to them and its about player/Mngt relations. Nothing to do with the fans being embarrassed y continued incidents Off field. like I said, the Tandy betting issue had been the only one. A few more and they may catch up to us.

I don't care who you get to do it but someone needs to read the riot act to these self indulgent pricks.

                  Chook.
