  • Why are we always favourites?

I just don't get it, we've had 1 and a 1/2 good games this year and yet we are favourites against the broncos despite the fact they are the form team of the competition. I wish the bookies would just put us as the underdogs for once so this team of overly inflated egos would step up.
That said, i'm sticking behind the roosters and backing them to put on a season defining performance with jr jr leading from the front to a 6 point win (but this may just be a rare display of easts optimism)
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

Because on paper, we have a very strong team but on the field, we're playing like a school team.

Cos Big Nick, Jamie P and Marky Mark keep dropping their weekly pay packet on us to win.

It has nothing to do with the teams on paper. Broncos would be favourites on that basis; especially with Todd well-known to be way off form/fitness (and now that he's pulled out we have maintained favouritism). From the market perspective (notwithstanding Roosters' fans) they have more of a "name" team: Lockyer, Hodges, Yow Yeh, Hannant, Parker, Thaiday / Pearce, SKD, Myles.

                The reasons are:
-Three of the Broncos wins have been against three of the bottom four teams on the current ladder.
-We smashed the Tigers two weeks ago, who are highly rated in spite of their injuries.
-We haven't been playing that badly. We had a narrow loss (same number of tries) away to the Dogs, and a narrow loss, again away, to a spirited Warriors team. If we had been playing with a 5/8th (or even a 1/8th!) we could easily be 4 from 5.
-Even though it's at Bluetongue, we are the home team.

We had 2.5 start last week against the Bros
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.

A rooster crows only when it sees the light. Put him in the dark and he'll never crow. I have seen the light and I'm crowing.

                      - relative home game
                      - Broncos Monday turnaround
                      - Broncos haven't beaten such great teams
                      - The Roosters haven't been in abysmal form

Still shaking my head at this one, we ended up getting back to $1.68 by kick off too.....bizarre with the looseness of our play and how tight the Broncos play.
