Would you say he's more suited to playing in the backs now?

Yeah I would.. He looks like he's too small for the back row now...

I can understand the losing weight part, but he just looks like a different person now..

I remember sitting at the Grand final last year,i had a great view of leilua form the sidelines and he looked supremely lean and fit.

I actually didnt recognize him at first as he looked so fit,so im assuming not much has changed!

He is starting to remind me of a young Justin Hodges.

Had a read of the Mitchell Pearce interview in Alpha today actually. He mentioned something about BJ really turning it up a notch in the off season, and claimed he was up for a significant year. Like many above have said, he definitely has something about him (that lets be honest, most poly outside backs dont)....Never forget the game he had against the Dogs last year.... absolutely tore them apart. Lets hope he finds that vain of form again.

                      Agree.

Would swap him with Linnet. Kane is built more like a winger, and is quicker.

BJ has the potential to become a world class centre (as we have a shitload of back rowers already).

In the mould of a young Mal/Miles/Ingli$/Hodges.

And he just turned 20 in december!!!

I agree with that.. He can't be 20, he was 18 when he played the Grand Final.

                            According to the website:

                            DOB 12 December 1991

My farkup, he is ONLY 19!

Although Leilua goes well at centre, I think he has attributes well-suited to the modern winger. No, he's not a speedster, but we saw his ability to be strong close to the tryline against Souths, and it was also on display in the trial against the Tigers. Semi-opportunities when the ball is spread from close to the opponent's tryline are frequent occurrences, and it's invaluable to have a powerful athletic winger.

Leilua is also terrific in the air and out of dummy-half. Both of these skills are useful at centre, but more so on the wing. As rhyseboy mentioned, he had a stellar outside back's game against the Dogs last year. He was fantastic when put into space, and his prowess under high balls was on display both in attack (a try off a Pearce bomb early in the first half) and defence (an excellent bomb defusal early in the second half). Admittedly he played centre for most of that game, but he moved to the wing in the latter stages when Linnett was injured.
