Not sure why everyone bangs on about Souths and the counting of deceased members etc. It's a marketing ploy and a nice gesture. If our marketing had the idea I'm sure half the nutbags on here (and I say that in a nice way) would do the same. Souths have 12,000 ticketed members which is far better than us.

I thought that was a joke about counting deceased members. If that's right then as a marketing ploy, its not a 'nice gesture'. I never recall marketing people having nice gestures but yes it is a ploy and not a nice ploy and then bragging about it.

a) I don't believe they actually do count them... but I have no doubt if there was a membership available with the roosters for people that have kicked the bucket there would be plenty of those nutbags I referred to taking it up..

b) I didn't explain in the post properly, but many would consider it a nice gesture to a deceased family member for them to be recognised as a supporter... sadly following a team is what some people live for. It would be something the family member took out.
