I hate to say it but for the good of the team he needs to be harshly dealt with, go back to the dark days of 2009 and it was incident's such as this that were swept under the carpet that led to a much widerspread problem.
no doubt Friend/Carney living together is a very bad idea and something needs to done before they both end up on the scrap heap once again.
as much as I hate to say it Carney should get say a 6-8 week suspension without pay that ruins any hope he had of playing for NSW, in the long run this is not only in Carney's best interest but also that of the club.

Roosters officials can rip up his contract and boot him out:
"We can't be having this sort of thing going on in our club in 2011, bye bye Todd have a nice life".
Or they can stay cool, calm and rational, and think deeply about the situation.
One of their star players has made a mistake...blew .052 on a Sat morning, having been to sleep from the night before.
Obviously thought he was OK to drive.
The only perfect person whoever walked on earth was the man with the holes in his hands and feet.
If the NRL starts jumping up and down and demanding drastic action be taken, then it should remember that Roosters supporters will be demanding the very same action be taken against every other player in every other team in the NRL if the same thing happens...including the NRL's the biggest stars.
If anyone thinks that other NRL teams would go all 'goody two shoes' and suspend one of their best players for even one match of the upcoming season for such a mistake...they're kidding themselves!
Fine him, give him a quiet and serious talking-to, tell him to catch cabs in future, and donate the money to road safety.
It's hardly the world's worst crime.
