To run out on the field against Souffs and carve them up.

Not suspend him or make him play for Newtown like some have suggested.

    • I wonder how much media and public scrutiny we would all handle? I don't give a shit about the money he earns, blah, blah, blah. It would be draining.

      • I find it difficult to stay mad at him 1 because he has ability and 2 because I do think he was really trying

        • According to the Herald, the cop was in front of him, recognised him, dropped back next to him, confirmed it was him then dropped behind and pulled him over.

He was .052 which, if he was not on his P's, he would not even be booked for.

It was the next morning - there are probably very few on this forum that would not have blown .052 the morning after a night out if you had have been pulled over. Luckily though, you are not "high profile rugby league idiot" Todd Carney and hence got safely to where you were going without any hassle.

This is a storm in a teacup and is all about the 24 hours news cycle for the ritalin society.

Funny how trouble seems to find him though. What are the chances of the RBT to be in that position on the morning he decides to drive over the allowable limit for a p-plater.
As far as him drinking, well it appears to be part of his make up. The club probably cuts him slack in the off season in order to ease the pressure on him being able to meet the expectations of being Mother Teresa during the season.

            Dumb? Yes. Criminal? hardly!!
            Exactly.
Papers this morning suggest Carney was travelling behind the cop car. Cops noticed his silver Jeep 4WD, pulled to the side and then followed him before pulling him over on "suspicion". Fark me! Talk about harrassement & stalking.
As Todd Carney suggested to the cops previously, go and catch some real criminals you worthless sh1theads. I don't condone DUI but this everyday occurence is very petty in the scheme of things.

15 yrs ago I was tested at about 9am on a Sat morning behind Concord Oval, the old copper looked at me, and cause I was close to home, suggested I go home and not drive till midday.

Sounds as though this was going to happen until the fun stopper noticed his P plates were on.

Your right Gman, that is f**ked how the cops pick him out like that!! Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if some organization such as the daily tellucrap have someone follow Carney 24/7, knew he was drinking the night before, see him get in his car and then alert police. I smell something rotten about the whole thing!!!! Certain people hate the Roosters so much and fear that the Roosters are capable of winning the comp this year and will resort to any tactic to screw us over! And no that is not being paranoid, it is just a fact of what goes on in life!

Cops are like that... they stalk people and try to get them in more trouble. Most crims start out with 1 minor offence which triggers a domino effect because the cops stalk them down and keep finding minor things to nick them with. Best advice I can give somebody with a criminal record is to move out of the jurisdiction and make sure you're squeaky clean in the public eye...

End of the day Carney shouldn't have had anything to drink and it's his fault... but I bet the local cops have stalked him over the last 12 months, looking for a minor crime to get him done for. That pill incident is just one case of the cops having waaaay too much spare time. Why is there always a copper conveniently standing nearby whenever Todd Carney is around? Because he's high profile and has a criminal record... you can bet the cops have been waiting 12+ months for this day and have their eyes on him as soon as he leaves his house. Other cops would have reported he'd been out drinking the night before, and I bet you any money they followed him as soon as he left his house.

... Guess there's a jealousy thing too? If I was on a cop's salary and saw a big new shiny Jeep with P's on, I'd be pulling them over and doing a "random" search too...

                          ISM22,

Congratulations on one of the most moronic posts of the year so far.

                          1. How many cops do you know to base this statement on, or should it actually read "I'm not real smart and keep breaking the law, so when I get caught by the cops they are stalking and picking on me".

Best advice I can give you and anyone else is don't break the law, then you got nothing to worry about. Same as speeding, if you don't speed then they can have a speed camera van on every corner, and it won't be a problem.

                          2. Cops salaries in NSW are a lot better than you might think, so I really don't think jealousy is a factor, maybe in your petty mind but rest assured they have a lot better things to do.

Cops are often in a no win situation, in Todd's case by picking him up for drink driving people like you spout nonsense about the Police "stalking" him, yet if he crashes his car into a friend or relative of yours while DUI then people like you will be saying "where were the coppers, why didn't they pick him up?"

So perhaps next time base your post on actual facts, and don't let your anti-Police conpsiracy theories get in the way. Some Police are actually Roosters supporters, and are actually really nice people - you might see this if you took off your tin foil hat once in a while.

I cant say I know todd at all, and neither do I know what "headspace" he must be at, but one thing I do know is today at the fan day he had the guts to front up and stand around for 2 hours signing autographs and having pictures taken without once looking like he did not want to be there....

For someone that just yesterday according to the media wanted to "quit the game", he sure managed to look like exactly the opposite....

And I take my hat off to him for being there in the first place....I know a lot of lesser men would have baulked the fan day all together......that took a lot of guts....

Good post Phantom, that was a great effort for Todd to do that. Lets hope he is ready to go round 1!

                                That would be a first

Seriously though what do people expect. The guy has deep problems that may haunt him for the rest of his life. He showed tremendous guts last year. No matter how well he does he is going to have struggles. I think we need to be patient with him and offer him support. When, he does **** up again (and he will) lets just hope its less public.
