its just a case of Smith wanting to get the 17 most talented players on the field at the same time, no doubt Justin Carney will get a run at some time, on the back of either injuries/suspensions or sackings which we might have to endure at some time with lunatics like Todd Carney and Friend running wild again.

I've gotta say, Justin Carney would be part of the most talented 17.

Without wanting to step on any toes, he has Perrett's measure and then some as a winger.

Carney could score 16 tries in a year compared to Perrett's 5.

I'm with you there mate.....but don't be silly, Perrett makes good scoots out of dummy and he's a good bloke...Just ask everyone! I still don't understand how he continually got turned inside out whilst at fullback?
In saying that, i actually think he's a pretty safe and solid winger, but i wan't a tryscorer on the wing, not a good dummy half runner!

LOL, Carney is a gun dummy half-runner.

          He's a ball of muscle.

I appreciate Perrett, but can't say I rate him. Though I suspect he is seriously part of the furniture and will never be moved.

Regardless, it's Leilua's wing that carney should steal, not Perrett's.

My Cousin was the original Tank playing for Lityhgow Shamrocks. He would be proud of the new tanker !!

I agree 150% with both you and John!!!

I mean do we want Justin "The Tank" Carney or Sam "Solid" Perrett??? Personally I also think that Steve Naughton would be excellent as well, but BJ has to be in the team somewhere as he is damn good.

Should be no questions about Perrett's position in the team.

Safe as bricks, good finisher and arguably the best dummy half runner in the game.

Amazing that people still don't get it. Clubs would kill to have him.

Agree he is close to the best dummy-half runner in the comp.

Also love the fact that he has the ability to make a break out of nothing.

However, he does not have a history of being "safe as bricks". He has had some really bad days with his hands under high balls, and at other times has made poor decisions in defence. Nevertheless, in both the Foundation Cup and against Souths, he has been in the best form of his life in these regards. Yes, as you say, there should be no question about his place in the team, but if he keeps killing it in these areas he will be even more valuable.
