and I expect the 2010-12 team to be as good

It's wishful thinking, the 75 team also had the best defense (by a mile) to go along with the amazing try scoring ability. We were mid table on the defensive side of things last season and I expect similar with still a relatively young team.

02-04 same story, best defensive team....our 10-12 team will never be this, so can't agree. The thing that helps however is the overall standard is lower from both eras mentioned, so we could be potentially more successful overall.

Only a touch of sarcasm from.I posted it up as I thought it was great historical of one great side.
I thought IIRoosterManII might want to include it in his library.
I found out this morning that my neighbour has one Aries jersies from the 70's....lets see if I can con him out of it or swap him.

          Mark Harris was a freak.

Beetson was way ahead of his time as a prop

          What a great team.

I will be doing a video for many of The Roosters Great Era's, Including the 70's.

              You're a champ!

I don't know if you have it in your collection, but there was a try scored by Joe Lydon against Cronulla in about 1987 where he beat about 10 defenders in a long range jinking run. I'd love to see that one again!

Saturday afternoon ABC game,a gem of a try!

Lydon did that more than a few times,he also set up a gem for Gary Wurth in a 14-7 loss to the Dragons on a Monday night.

                  Great talent he was!!

                    Woops - I meant 1987, of course.

My father has a copy of that try on videotape, but I no longer have a player to watch it. Anyone know a cheap way to rip videos to .avi or MP4 format?

That was my favourite try of all time - I've searched everywhere on the interweb, to no avail
