Masoe ready to fire
14/02/2011 2:56:42 PM
He may not be a household name yet, but you can guarantee Mose Masoe is no stranger to the numerous rivals he has left bruised on the turf.
After playing just 12 first grade games, Masoe has already earned a reputation as one of the NRL’s heaviest hitters.
The New Zealander made his first grade debut last season and after a solid year, had a clean out of his AC joint immediately after season end.
Two pre-season matches and a few big hits later and Masoe says he is ready to breakthrough in 2011.
“I am really glad the season is just around the corner I have been raring to go since I got the shoulder fixed,” he said
“I’m just really keen to get out there and play football and hopefully lock down a first grade spot for the entire year.”
The twenty one year old was selected in both the Samoan and New Zealand train on squads at the end of last year, but chose instead to go under the knife to be fit for the upcoming season.
Speaking of the big hitting reputation, Masoe says it’s never been his intention to stand out in that department.
“I just go out on the field and if I see an opportunity I just go for it one hundred percent and put my body on the line and see what happens.”
