Wake up to yourself Anasta. The Roosters are not getting rid of you through lack of loyalty, the reason for your upcoming dismissal, is simplythat you no longer represent value for money now that Carney is playing for the Roosters. I wouldnt have posted this except for the fact that you know it, along with anybody that follows league. This happens to players at all clubs in all sports. The club has been good to you over the years you have spent with them. you decide now, to critisize the club. Good luck for the future. you will now discover your true value, on the open market, I doubt that any club woul'd sign you as a forward.

Come 2013,Braith would be eligable for the $200k veteran exemption.
If the club really wanted to keep him, they could simply offer him a one year incentive deal similar to Minis 2010 deal to get him under the cap.
Obvious he is not in Smiths plans at all...

Did you ask him that.....how would you know what he will and will not take??.....

Dont ever question his love for nor loylaty of the roosters....he bleeds for this club....
P.. This (almost) implies that they didn't even offer $200K ?
Can you confirm, cause I'd keep him for $200K, or could it be a game to flush out his market value, then offer him $200 + a bit on the side?

Knowing how tight he is with Nick, it's obvious that he'd want to stay, and I'd imagine Nick will have some input, at some stage.

Sorry.. should have worded it better. I don't think in my opinion that he would stay for under 200k!!

In Freddy's last two contracts as a player, he took significant pay-cuts. It's what you do if you truly want to be here.

Not even Freddy was exempt from watching himself getting older while the younger ones come through. I always thought Freddy could have played another couple of years, but the salary crap makes it impossible.

Braith has to make the same decision. If he truly wants to be part of the future then he'll re-sign, nothing surer.

I've supported the Roosters since the time they were called Easts. I don't understand why the club would pay a player an outlandish sum of money to play lock- forward, the position he was given the opportunity to impress the club with last year. Idont believe he achieved the clubs expectations.

Anastasia is 29 and can think for himself.
Historically, that means you are too old for Brian Smith. It undermines his influence

                    The rest is bullshit.

The point that a lot of people are missing is not about any future contract he may be offered, but primarily about the current contract he is on....

It has been publically stated in more than one form of media that Braith has already been shopped around for the current season.....THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.....he has a year remaining and has earned the right to see that out and either continue at a rate mutually acceptable to himself and the club, or leave and seek a contract elsewhere, but he SHOULD NOT be in danger of not having a place for the season 2011......

He has done enough for this club to be granted that much.....

The Herald article stated that the approach to Parramatta was made by Anasta's representative, not the club. The rest is innuendo. The only offer on the record is the question from NQ late last year to which our club responded that Braith is at the Roosters in 2011 as per current contract and is not available.

Please point to a credited source that states he is being shopped around byu the club (as opposed to his manager) for 2011.

It isnt Easts shopping him around its Anastas manager and his people doing the groundwork, Easts have said if you receive an offer you cant refuse you are free to go, I dont really see what all the fuss is about, uts not about 2011, its 2012 and beyond, the bloke has squillions of dollars, money is not an issue for the bloke.

The only issue for Anasta is if he is happy playing second fiddle at lock to the halves where at another club he may be the goto guy, money will not come into it.

Apart from hearing it on radio media also, I dont have a credible source....and that statement really lends itself to being an oxymoron......

I would like the Roosters to keep our captain! The way i see us keeping Braith and the young one's, is to offer Braith a 2 year deal and back end it. Give Braith $100k next year and $300k or $400 in the final year which would be 2013. In 2013 there should be a significant rise in the salary cap, something like between 2 to 3 million higher. In 2013 most sides are going to be able to afford really good quality depth.

It would also be in the interests for the Roosters for next year to get a top shelf fullback (Dugan, Boyd) and back end his contract just like how i explained before.

The club has made the right decision as hard as it may be seen. The fact that he has gone to the press about it reinforces it.
