Absolutely. Jake needs a back-up partner and thank goodness it's Piggy as opposed to Kouparitsas.
Piggy is a diligent dummy-half who works penalties very well when the opposition are on the back foot. Coach Smith conceded we lacked direction in this area & purposely went after Watts.
Should be interesting if/when Watts, Friend & Riddell are all considered fit for 1st grade.

Thanks for that mate. Im not to familiar with Piggy's playing style due to the fact that when he was still playing NRL i wasnt as an avid supporter that i am today. If his playing style is as of you speak, than I am excited to see him perform. Thanks for that bit of intel mate, Cheers.

Imagine the Roosters winning penalty counts, yeah right, that will be the day. I suppose we can always dream. Piggy will probably earn 7/8 penalties a game but will be lucky to be given 1 while he wears a Roosters jersey!
Once they are all fit, Freind and Watts should both be ahead of him in the team respectively.
I agree with you that Friend should be respectively ahead of him but why Watts? They were both signed for this season, so it should be good to see what Smitty does there.

Watts is twice the player Riddell is and one of the best impact players in club football. I didn't rate Riddell when he was at St George and Parra and definately not now that he is back from ESL, he would of softened up big time.

He is entitled to freely express his opinion whether he is a Roosters fan or not.
Anyway, I also think Watts is ahead of both Piggy and Friend. He was one of the Cowgirls best players and is a very good impact player. IMO a perfect foil to Jake as he still learns his craft.

Hope he recovers early.
I would have Friend comfortably ahead of both but Watts will be fantastic but not probably until 2012.. After an ACL we cannot have too high expectations placed on him next year if he does get on the field. Watts will get more running metres than Friend will though even if he only gets 25 minutes a week game time..

when they are all fit for nrl they will all be in the 18,Piggy can play back row. the three of them will run other teams off there feet. The fitness level Smith acheived with last years back rowers, coupled with three guy's in the middle that can create super fast ruck speed will gain more penalties and give our halves more holes in the middle to attack!in the back end of a game you'll find defenses will compress to compensate and it will create over laps for our outside men.

Good post.
Watts definately offers more in attack and creativity, but I would really see the Roosters benefiting with Freind setting the platform with solid defence and good passing then bring Watts into it to cause havoc.
