Smith loves having players like Conn in his squad.
Conn knows he's not a 'gun', so tries his guts out every game.
This attitude puts pressure on the 'gun' to perform.
Win Win for Mr Smith and the atm the Chooks.

One thing for certain about having Conn in your squad, there will be no lazy forwards this year.

Remember, Conn is playing out of position, which is a testiment to his attitude. He gets belted in the ruck but keeps digging.

I can see Smith letting a guy like Myles leave before a Conn type player. I think Smith would look at a player like Myles, look at how much they're on and think...'what does he bring to the sqaud that somebody on $150k a year less can't bring?' If that 'something' is worthwhile, then he would keep him eg. the fear factor that Morley brought. But in Myles case he might be inclined to say 'let him pick up his $350k elsewhere, I'll work with the young guys and the Daniel Conn's of the world and still get the job done'.

              Conn does the job

Well sad and agree, Conn is great value, plays with ticker, was a stand out in 2010. I hope we can keep him.

As for NSW centres in front of Beau Champion - J Morris (1st picked), J Lyons, Gasnier, Indris, Jennings, Lawrence, Croker, Thompson (if NSW?) - I would add Ayshford & Linnett as potentially better talents. But agree that Bellamy will likely be his best ever coach (obviously to date).

Origin requires not just talent, you need to do your job for the full game, you must be tough, and prepared to carry others. J morris couldn,t do anything out of the ordinary the dogs in 2010. Gasnier would have to take his game to another level 2011 to cut it.Idris is not origin material and will be lucky to remain at centre at the dogs. Jennings has had his chance and shown everyone he isn,t tough enough.Croker aysford thompson and linnet are far to inexperinced to play origin in 2011.Lawerence is a possibility waits for opportunity a little lazy. lyon if not injured is good. remember who there up against! Champion was lost to injury in 2010 and before that a stand out in the competition,Champion is a player that fits the origin mould.Watch him at melbourne you will be convinced early season.

Disagree with the first part of that statement, but agree with the the second part. I think he is going to be a fantastic player and will be a long term origin player, but in the back row and not as a centre.

So who from the NSW team was "up to it"?
Croker, Aysford, Thompson and Linnet are better footballers than B Champion. Beau is a toiler. Couldn't beat an egg. Sorry he won't play origin because he's not good enough.

That attitude might get you to a Grand Final but as we have found out last year, it doesn't get you over the line against a star studded lineup loaded with strike weapons on coin.

                        Beguurk,
Yourself and T.Carney must have been taught by the same english teacher at school .
You'd better get spell check beforehand too, if you ever decide to get an essay tattooed on your body.

Except that doesn't really sum up the Dragons... in fact it sums us up more than it does them.

They're very calculated and rely on their toilers a lot.

I would be buying him a new navman if he goes via Belmore.
