Areas Of Improvemnt For 2011?

Despite our defensive efforts from round 21, we were well short of the best. We need a Dallas Johnson/Michael Luck style player that makes 50 tackles a game.
We need one or two of our current crop of props to step up or a new prop that will consistently bend the line.
We need a fast and defensive wing.
We need depth in the backline.

I wouldn't change much to be honest. I think our style of play is great and will only get better with time and patience. A couple of points:
- An option through the middle. I think we tend to go wide too often. I'd like to see us shift the ball quickly back for a rampaging Kennedy or hole hitting Aubusson through the middle. See if we can't catch them off guard. Not inside balls like we were doing. I mean long balls.
- Defence and offence around the ruck. Defensively, our forwards got caught a bit flat footed a few times I noticed. Offensively, if we come up against a good pack, we aren't making the metres to match them. Similarly, in defence they are making metres. That needs to change.
- Fitness. It really concerned me that our starting forwards were coming off after 15-20 minutes. When your experienced forward depth is limited, I think you need to get 20-25 minutes out of your starting pack. Especially when it gets to the later stages in the game and everything is on the line. You want your experienced forwards out there been effective. I think we lost 3 or 4 games where our forwards lacked a bit. Let's get them doing some high altitude training early on and then work on explosive speed and power later. Stamina will keep us going. I know we got more minutes out of our bench forwards but I think we could use them to make an impact rather than get long minutes out of them.

Dummy- half Jake got better towards the end but was a long way behind
where the Dragons are. Hopefully Watts give us an extra dimension
A wide running backrower with bit of size and an offload to compliment
Anasta and Maubs. Hoping Cherro, Leilua and Tasi can do the job.
Leilua will be a beast when he stops growing.
Another winger that can break tackles.

The only weakness i can see is the fans !!
Apart from my good self and a few other exceptions, the rest of you lot need to harden the **** up big time!

Waaaaaah...... he was a metre over the sideline
Waaaaaah...... that pass to Leilua was good
Waaaaaah...... it was raining
Waaaaaah...... Archers cat ( named Jamie that wears a little woolly hat in winter ) had chicken whiskas for lunch
ENOUGH !!
Any Steelers fan comin on here would be pissing themselves laughing and offering up a saucer of milk. Our whining only gives that human refuse more ammo but we need to realise that in the WWFNRL.......the game never ends and the right team ALWAYS wins !!
PS. WE WERE ****ING ROBBED WORSE THAN A HARLEM GLOBETROTTER OPPONENT !!

Few thoughts...
- Centres need to defend better.
- Forwards have improved a lot but still give away lots of metres when defending.
- Carney and Pearce... great, but they can do better. They need to think about cementing themselves as experienced rep players rather than being promising young blokes. Dally M isn't an excuse to stop improving!
- Wingers and FB need to work on containing kicks and returning faster. Perrett is quick and slippery but Mini has lost his speed. They all need to work on their speed and return runs...
- Everybody needs to sure up their basic skills... spend those extra hours practicing ball handling, passing, catching and simply hanging onto the ball under pressure so we don't cock up as much.
- Tactics... Smith REALLY has to study up on the rules and find out some loopholes, so that we have a unique, surprising, but legal style that people aspire to copy. That and we need to know how to crack more physical teams... IMO we have always struggled against more physical teams, particularly when the weather cramps our usually open, creative playing style.
- Fitness and strength... I want our boys to boast a few extra kg, and some extra levels in the beep test. We need to put in a lot of good old fashioned hard work while the others are off Drinking beer...

- we are one winger short
- need to work on some more attacking play around the ruck
- i think we need to learn how to grind out wins, our attacking play is awesome, but sometimes they were going for the big plays too often, looking for repeat sets and adding more pressure could get us that one step further.
