Shame about Towers. I know Mini had a great season, so it was hard for him to get a run, but it would have been nice to keep him.

Tough front-row forward, Tinirau Arona, was the popular winner of the club's best and fairest and best forward awards for 2010. Arona was a mainstay of the Jets' forward pack and has been rewarded with a contract with the Sydney Roosters in 2011.

Fellow front-rower, Khalid Deeb, won the prestigious Fred Daly Memorial Shield award which is given to the player who has made strong contributions to the club on and off the field.

Tall five-eighth, Johnathon Ford, won the best back award, while classy centre, Tu'u Maori, took out the most improved award as well as being the club's top points-scorer.

Winger, Troy Savage, won the coach's award and utility forward, Ray Moujalli, had the rare honour of being judged the players' player for the second year in succession.

Fullback, Luke Towers, who will be playing with the French club, Limoux, this summer, was the Newtown club's top try-scorer.

Centre, Chris Tuatara-Morrison, received a special award for humanitarianism in recognition of an outstanding act of good citizenship that he performed some weeks ago.
      Very interesting regarding Arona.

So we will have Myles, Ryles, Kennedy, Hargreaves, Masoe, Tasi and Arona all as able prop-forwards. If we keep Maliota too, that is another big bopper.

I really rate Tinirau Arona. He has plenty of size, but it is his work rate and footwork for a big fella that stands out to me. He will definitely debut next year. There's plenty to like about him.

If Shrek had come in a better environment, he would have been great for us.

I would not be surprised if Luke Towers although playing in France is still on the books.

Luke actually flew back out to France today after spending xmas here.
He will be back in June...

I would probably lean towards thanking him for the memories at the end of next season.. His experience is valuable but he will be pushing for a 3 year extension without a doubt and that is far too long for a guy of his age.. I would think he may be worth a one year extension but he would not accept that.
i agree, i like anasta and would like him to stay. but i think carney and pearce will go even better without him. he seems to cramp there style at times, if he is to stay i would like to see him play straighter and run decoys. he could be the best ball playing back rower around if he bulked up a bit on 2010 and stopped trying to be a third half!

I tend to agree..I thinkits hard to carry Braith and Maubs in the backrow together..we need a bit more hard hititng defence..like when we had Ricko/Fitzy/Fletcher/Crocker etc.. hard working and hitting.
