  • The reason we lost...

I see Saints fans carrying on about how they were the better team all game but I beg to differ. I think in the first half we were the far better team (yes for half the game) but due to piss poor decisions we led 8-6 at half time instead of 16-0.

Then in the second half the rain came and they got a couple of other lucky decisions which led to a massive momentum shift there way. From then on we were no chance.

Don't downplay the impact the refs had on this game. Their incompetence in the first half killed us. With a 16-0 lead at half time I think we win.

The Dragons really on ly played well the last 30 mins off the back of dodgy tries that gave them heaps of ball and momentum.

It doesnt matter now Dolph. They have the trophy. Its too late for all his. And its too late to do your head in with what the refs did or didn't do.

We were there. We made it that far, against all odds. And we'll continue next year again, against all odds. Its how it is.

    Its the vibe.

      two reasons we lost...

none of our forwards made a yard, and we missed too many tackles

      simple as that

ref decisions were bad and contributed but if you have a pack that makes the measly amount of yards ours did you'll be lucky to beat a middle of the table side - you'll certainly never be beating St George

Its because we don't (and haven't all year) concentrate on getting the basics right. Thats plenty of go forward, driving kick and chase game, tight defence, discipline, patience and team spirit..............and all this was from the 1332 (NZ) radio sports commentary (taken from ABC Grandstand) interview with Wayne Bennet, he simply said that these old school values still apply today for setting the foundation. Totally Agree

          This is why we lost.

          And this.

Don't think it was anything else.

They also refuse to acknowledge Brett Morris being out or pushing Pez in the back, fail to acknowledge the knock on from Young into MAubs......it's why I refuse to congratulate any of them - the match was a farce, we were not outplayed until the boys lost the ****ing plot with all the rubbish calls. (the Pez push in the back was the final straw)

We were never ever going to be allowed to win that match.

If Young's try was a try Anasta's one against the bulldogs was even more certain to be a try

but that's not the point. We lost because we had no go forward, nothing for our halves to work off.. which is really an integral part of our attack

No doubt we were phsyically & mentally on top in the first half. However we need to turn some of that weight of possession into points. Yes it should have been 8-0 but it wasnt and we didnt take the opportunities we had.

Something went very wrong from the beginning of the second half, We seemed to be much less intense. Any chance of getting back into the game was shattered by poor decisions. The young "try" was again a Billy special.

So in the end I see 2 definate tries that should not have been allowed. Penalties that we deserved and didnt get and general bad calls.

In my view, there was no conspiracy. The calls they got were way more influencial in terms of points. So to me this GF will always be tainted because of the low rate performance by the match officials. All except Hayne should never, ever be allowed near a 1st grade game again.

First half. Forget how the score blew out if we lead by 8-12 like we should of we would of won easily.

I'm still gutted we didn't win but proud of the effort from the boys.

something went wrong in the second half alright, it rained, and we seriously played like drowned rats. it was almost like it was psychological, i wonder whether the talk all week about rain favouring saints got to the boys.

I agree Dolphin, 16-0 nil and game over.

The other thing that is overlooked is the refereeing killing our attack with no penalties for offside. The man responsible?
