  • Good time for Bennett to retire?

I have the feeling that Bennett is contemplating retirement. Anyone with me on this one? He has achieved more that any other coach and common sense tells me he would leave on a high. Who knows, I could be wrong. Imagine what this would do to the NRL world. It would throw the doors open for Smithy. This is the only consolation I can think of at the moment, lol.

He has basically the same squad for next year and I think would be on a bit of a high right now. Sure he is getting old... I'm not sure when he will retire though. My guess is he will retire when this Dragons squad breaks up due to the salary cap. Surely not far away after 2 minor premierships?

I was reacting to the fact that he has made no decision about his future with the dragons and that there is talk about him taking up a senior/executive management role for the Broncos. Whilst the dragons are celebrating, they are also panicking he will leave. Is is known that he would prefer to move back to Brisbane.
He was won titles with 2 different teams now. He has nothing more to prove.

Well, after Alfie's boy had them miss the finals for the first time in nearly 20 years, you may be correct.

He has another year on his agreement. Does he have a get out clause? I think he will honour the agreement.

I think he will move to Queensland.
His family are still there and the team is losing three of its key forwards to pay for Gasnier which Bennett was pissed off about.
