  • Dragons party ends in brawl at St George Leagues Club, man allegedly Tasered

CELEBRATIONS at St George Leagues Club soured after a brawl sparked by overcrowding ended with a man allegedly being Tasered by police.
The Riot Squad was called in the early hours of the morning when police locked down the club because of serious overcrowding.

Angry fans in the carpark vented their frustrations on security guards, with two guards assaulted at the front door.

Police quickly moved in to quell the violence and it is understood officers allegedly used capsicum spray to subdue one man.

There were a number of arrests and fans in the carpark of the Leagues Club reported seeing police allegedly using a Taser gun on one man.

A man was later taken to hospital after he suffered a suspected cardiac arrest during the melee.

A police spokeswoman said the man was reported to be in a serious condition.

Witnesses said police officers and paramedics continued to perform emergency CPR on the man in the back of the ambulance as he was being rushed to St George Hospital.

"Something very bad has happened," a police officer said.

Rumours continued to flood Twitter early this morning as fans tweeted they were turned away from the club, saying they had heard a man was allegedly Tasered after the brawl erupted.

Riot Squad officers continued to patrol the area early this morning after fans became agitated following the man's collapse

Typical St.Merge behaviour, they really are a joke of a club with the worst fans in the NRL along with the Dogs.

They should've had an outdoor party/presentation area...across the road at the oval as well if necessary, with the players and coach on show at both the club and the oval.

You wouldn't need a degree from Harvard to figure out that most of the Dragons fans from the game would be descending on the Leagues Club.

Their problem is they don't have fans! Just dickheads who want to associate themselves with success.

As an ex Steelers fan the merger never worked for me. The dragons were our rivals! They took away our name, clothes and fanbase. I moved to Bondi in 1996 and instantly became a Roosters fan. For me sure... end of the day we want to win games but there's something special about being a Roosters fan. Last night we lost, and I had a puck load of beers with other fans to drown my sorrows. One thing I found was that the fans I was with were all quiet and really close together. I woke up really happy in the morning, maybe because we were all pretty positive? We were upset, but not angry/violent. Coming together with the fans was an amazing experience.

St Merge fans come from all over... they are a bit like Man. United fans... some live in the area...etc, but most just seem to have jumped on the band wagon so they can go around saying "WE WON!!" and heckle people who actually stand for clubs. We don't really get those people. There's something magic about being a Roosters fan!
