"I'll be doing everything I can to win it.
"I'll be doing my part to try to make sure that everything that is in my powers to win it will be done.
"That's what I get paid for. It's what makes me tick.
"But I've learned there's only so much you can do and I'll just enjoy doing that bit.
"I'm feeling relaxed today, but I might not be tomorrow."
"I'm just happy to talk about today and the next eight days to get ready.
"My entire focus is on this week.
"I don't want to worry too much about what's happened or what might happen. I'm just happy to get ready for it.
"This just reminds me they [grand finals] are special occasions. The guys have been great, they haven't got ahead of themselves.
"There's been no talk about the future or the past, everyone just wanted to get on with the job.
"If we do that this week again we'll give ourselves a good shot at it."
"We've been inconsistent but our boys, on most of the occasions we've needed it, they've found another level of performance. Hopefully they can do it this week, too," Smith said.
"I just love it [coaching]. I love almost everything about it.
"There's nothing else I would rather be doing. It's not just a job, it's a way of life. I've got a job to do now. We'll start to regroup for the biggest game of the year. Hopefully it will be our best performance of the season."
Reassuring to say the least. Fire up Smithy. Fire up boys!
