  • Any bad point from last night?

    I have a few:
Well I would say that I hate early kicks. I don't mind once in a while to keep them guessing OR when there is a try op like Perret's 2nd but giving the ball back on the 4th or worse the 3rd is just committing yourself to more work in defense.

Carney as great as he is-and we all love him for it- sometimes he just holds the ball that liiiiittle bit extra and bombs try. Hopefully he will mature to see when to hold and not to hold.

Last one. Can someone please check the footware manufacturer. Why is it that I feel that we slip more often? I feel that in the last 3 games, we could have had another 3-4 tries if not for slipping.

I am a bit of a fan of the early kick, as long as its not over done.2002 it was used very well, along with very tough defense.
It works well against big forwards and gets them very tired. The Rooster also move the ball from one side to the other to acheive similar results

Try and be serious and you will look stupid

I agree with you, but just a few weeks ago, we were all saying how we need to hold it more and be more patient in attack. But i guess the key is to find the balance between knowing when to go for that extra pass and when to hold it.

Yeah, I used to get laid after every time after a greats Easts semi victory now she wont wake up.

We need to use our switch of play behind the ruck more. It works very well, but isn't done enough.

As in, Friend to Pearce on the right, who then switches back to Carney on the left. It creates space, because defensive lines, fatigued from semi finals footy, often don't advance on both sides of the ruck, but only on the side to which the ball initially is passed. Big metres to be gained up the middle. Also can create space out wide.

The same answer for both of these - i.e. it was slippery from dew. The Roosters slipped over more, but the Panthers dropped the ball more. I was happy with the early kicks in the conditions.

Negatives for me were (1) the fading form of FPN (2) getting white line fever and bombing a couple of tries through over enthusiasm (3) our defence in the first 20 minutes still needs to toughen up - we still seem to lose the forward battle in the early exchanges giving the opposition the early momentum.

I admit freely to being certifiably insane. This forum is part of my therapy.

I don't mind the early kicks.... but the throwing of 'one pass too many' is a little disturbing.... Control those moments & keep piling on the pressure..... we can't give away easy possession against the titans!

Our ruck defence is our only weakness. Teams are making far too many meters up the middle. We wont win against against any of the other 3 if we dont tighten that up.

Im worried about our defense, despite the fact we only let in 12 points.
We just looked lost at times when the Panthers had the ball, luckily we scrambled well.
The Titans will chew us up if we arent on our game defensively.,

the bad point for me was FPN's impersination of a ghost. He was hardly seen. Grahams injury could be a real blessing in disguise with BJ starting and hopefully FPN can take his spot on the bench and be used in the back row where he plays his best footy. Would like to see Mose come back in JWH start with Ryles.

Bad? No - plenty of minor things to work on though which is what we want...last time we hit a peak (Parra) we got run over by the Dragons for an entire 80 minutes a week later and took another 3 weeks to recover. Brian is timing the next peak, we look a week or two off unleashing hell - I'm hoping we can scrape by on Friday night and unleash that hell the following Sunday.

Obviously one week at a time though
