  • The real player ratings

    The Panthers never really had a chance to be honest.....We were steely in defence and clinical in attack - from all parts of the field. Saying that, I am still very concerned about our lack of go foward when coming out of our own half....It seems that if the dummy half running doesnt work, plan B is to go laterally thru 20 metre cut out passes. This sometimes comes off, but players like Perret, SKD and Mini really need to put their hands up to ensure they play their role effectively. The player ratings;

    1. Minichello - Outstanding under the high ball. A very safe option at the back. Would like to see him develop his support play more though. 7/10

    2. Graham - Injured in the 30th minute. Set up a try and read Walsh well in defence. Even though I prefer Leilua, we may miss his experience. 6/10

    3. Linnett - Brilliant signing. One of the best defensive centres I have seen in a long time. Needs early ball to exploit his pace. 7/10

    4. SKD - Relatively quiet last night as he was well contained. This meant there was no pressure on the others. Suprisingly sound in defence. 6/10

    5. Perrett - Did his usual trick - made a game high 190 metres. Always makes 10 out of dummy half, then gets the quick play the ball. 8/10

    6. Carnage - Enough said. 8/10

    7. Pearce - Brilliant game. Watching him pass 30 metre bullets to Todd and visa versa is just amazing to watch. A very effective runner of the footy. Superb kicking game making 340 metres from 10 kicks. 8.5/10

    8. Ryles - Only played 35 minutes. Consistently makes the 10 on every run. Must know when to use his offload though. 6.5/10

    9. Friend - Player of the match for mine. Made 46 tackles, missing 2 - not bad for a midget. Was so pleased to see him scooting out of dummy half - if he can develop that part of his game (as well as his kicking) he will be a big part of representative sides in the next 10-15 years. Has a shocking tatoo. 9/10

    10. FPN - Not to sure whats wrong with him. Is used more effectively as a wide running backrower where he is allowed to use his offload and run angles. Only made 8 metres last night - Luke Burt makes more. 2/10

    11. Anasta - Not so much what he did with the ball, but what he does off the ball. He is a calming yet inspirational influence on the players. A very polished performer. 7/10

    12. Maubs - I love his 'swerve' when hitting the ball at pace. Like Friend, he will be a huge factor in the representative arena in the years to come. As solid as ever in defence. 7.5/10

    13. Nate - Hard to decide if I like him or FPN in the backrow better. Typical workhorse effort, making 100 metres and 33 tackles. Hits very hard in defence also. 8/10

    14. Kennedy - The resident steroid abuser was as solid as ever last night. I'd like to see him get more game time though. The future leader of our pack. 7/10

    15. JWH - Absolutely ******* brilliant. 8.5/10

    16. Conn - Huge fan of this bloke. Doesnt miss a tackle and plays well above his weight. Always the first to make contact. 7/10

    17. Leulia - Will be our best player against the Titans. Fearsome ball runner. 7.5/10

Graham's injury will open the door for Leilua to go onto the wing, thus meaning our bench will be; Kennedy, JWH, Conn and Mose - good luck stopping that. This side has a tremendous mix of youth and experience - early 2000's anyone?

    Up the Chooks.

If Symonds is fit I would have him on the bench as he can cover back row and centre, with Mose, Kennedy, Ryles and JWH as our prop rotation we dont need FPN.

In the Panthers first try, SKD was ahead of Purtell and stopped chasing which gave Purtell an unobstructed run to score. Very lazy effort.

If it was regular season I'd start Mosoe, bench FPN and drop Conn. But it's finals time and Conn had a (very) good off the bench.

All this speculation about Anasta not enjoying his move into the backrow, I'll tell you the guy that's suffering is FPN, being asked to play up front when he's spent the last 18 months tapering down into a backrower.
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.
                  Easts to win

He really isn't enjoying his time in the front row, hopefully brian sees this and puts him back in the backrow, even if it means he comes of the bench. FPN just doesn't cut it as a prop, BRING MOSE BACK!!!!

                            There is something called etiquette.
You have done nothing to warrrant the call of putting out the "Real" ratings.
Anyway conveying your thoughts by reputation should be limited to maybe one line, except if talking about living life with your hands down your pants. Then you can rule the roost.

Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Big year for Souffs next year - 40th year with out a premiership.Crowe has gonna stage some big carnivals
Starting with who can throw the most wooden spoons the furthest.
They should have a seperate competition Souffs vvs Cronulla and call it The 40 year drought cup.
