  • Where it will be won or lost

    Stop Farah.

screw Benji hes good for one linebreak and a flick pass a game and very little else. the man that drives there go forward and the majority of their line breaks is Robbie. The Roosters are infamously weak at defending around the ruck, and while Friend does an excellent job of plugging this area he makes very few dominant tackles and hence teams tent to get a roll on when they exploit this area, If we are able to pick up our defensive line speed and avoid allowing tired forwards to get caught at marker or one off the ruck I have no doubt we will win the game. Fiinals games quite simply are not one by the halves, they are won by getting yourself in a position where pressure will deliver points, If we stop farah we stop the tigpies doing this and we then roll over them with superior size and speed and will win....

    simple really.

Have Maubs spend 80 minutes hanging around Robbie Farah like that slutty girl he knew from Ballina High. Both situations require a mouthguard (or dental dam in one case) so he's going to be well equipped.

Farah will think Maub's Mark McInnes.

I'm predicting far fewer points than most.

          I see a scoreline of 16-12.

            it's down to the forwards

they must not allow the tigers to play fast in the middle

line speed in defense will be crucial, and if the tigers are allowed to dart through the middle off the back of quick play the balls, and then have their big guys roll on, we will get beat

additionally, Smith has been saying for weeks now that they must be patient and do the work in the middle before being expansive

they weren't patient last week, and just got home against the worst team in the comp

if they aren't patient on Saturday, they will pay the price

I think moving nate to lock will pay off big time, he can shut down farrah, and maubs will pressure marshall, our props will go forward big time with junior and carney getting room to move, and our backs will finish them off.

              This is ours to win.

what i would like to see:
                • frank-paul to lock - i believed his best run of form this season came when he was playing lock. he ran the ball long and hard, made the good offload, created space, set up and scored tries
                • masoe and ryles at props - masoe is simply, a beast. ryles has been quite good this season, and id have to say, theyve been 2 of our most impressive props this season
                • martin kennedy in the team (bench) - his impact when he has played off the bench has been vital at times.
                • carney, pearce and friend focal point of our attack, kouparitsas to not play at all - we need to see friend interacting more with pearce and carney. our attack will get better as the combination between the 3 gets better.

overall, we just need to be patient. without patience, the kind of patience we had during our 5 game winning streak, we wont win

I agree with your comments , except for lock.........Myles was great for us there early in the year, and i think his defence is much better than FPN, FPN should be 2nd row.

I am very very nervous about this game.
As TD7 said, control Farah as best you can to limit the damage he does.
I would also ask the big fellas to try and run at Benji to tire him out.

*Without Chris Lawrence, i believe their soft spot is out wide. We must direct our attack at their inexperienced centre combo of Mitch Brown & Blake Ayshford.
Way back in RD 2 we scored heaps of points down Ayshford/Beau Ryan's side.

                      * It goes without saying but if i were Smithy i would commission Conn, Mose and MAubs to crunch Benji whenever he gets the ball. Inflict pain and nullify his flair.

                      * Our markers MUST work hard and minimise dummy-half running especially Farah.

Ball control, territory and limited mistakes. We get that, we win.
