Every other capatin in the NRL must be quietly chuckling at the 4 times most overrated player......THINK OF cAPTAIN fITZGIBBON AND NOW THINK OF bWAIFF......APPALLING
But Caney best 6 award is a real rebuke to the time Anasta defiled Fitlers jersey. $ years of garbage and then half way through the season Smith yanks him to lock and Carney shows what a joke Anasta at 6 had been. That Carney could form a partnership with Pearce in such short is the real marker of Carneys quality...........Pearce/Anasta...= wooden spoon .......... .Pearsce/Carney.........=Gold
Anasta is a ghost at lock (now 2nd row lol) and is a non event at captain (apart from little sulk sessions)
as far as i can make out Anasta's role in the team is as follows:
restarts
knockons
grubbers
bombs
press conferences
it musn't be like the various positions (ie: the centre of the year is the centre who gets the most points), otherwise Farrah wins?
You're not correct in saying that centre of the year is the centre who gets most points cause Gallen got the most points and he's a lock yet Luke Lewis won the lock of the year...there's actually a large panel of judges from previous footballers and the media contingent who all vote for the player to win the position award...they obviously also vote for captain of the year and coach of the year etc etc...only the Dally m award is based on points scored...
ANYONE who can help guide his side out of the NRL cellar and transform them into genuine premiership threats obviously has the makings of a great leader.
And that is why the Roosters' Braith Anasta was awarded the Captain of the Year award last night.
Anasta inherited the Bondi club's captaincy from Craig Fitzgibbon midway through last year's forgettable season, and quickly embraced the new-found responsibility this year.
Overseeing a group of loose cannons - Todd Carney, Jake Friend and Nate Myles are just three players with ugly track records, but who have acquitted themselves brilliantly off the field in 2010 - Anasta has helped maintain harmony and always led from the front foot.
He has consistently tried to reason with referees, slotted back into lock to accommodate Carney at five-eighth, and always made himself available to the media.
While coach Brian Smith has helped transform the Roosters, his job has been no doubt made easier with Anasta at his immediate service.
Anasta has already won a premiership with the Bulldogs and will need to call on his September experience in the coming weeks to get even more out of his troops, many of whom are new to the post-season.
Petero Civoniceva has long been respected by his peers, and Cameron Smith a natural leader, but nobody will deny Anasta the prestigious award.

LOL
or another version...
Forced to lock after refusing to allow Carney a shot for half the season.
Fitler yanked him to lock and then fullback...and we all recall Fitler hinting at the sulking that ensued.

I used to roll my eyes each time you made a post about Anasta but since last night I can't help but laugh at how fast you can dig a hole. They should send you to Chile.
