  • Dally M awards tonight

the fact that we are a chance to take 4 awards home tonight goes to show how far the club has come over the last 12 months, last year I didn't even watch the coverage as I knew we were no hope to win anything.

awards that we are in the running for:

Dally M Medal - Carney will likely finsish in the top 3 whether he has done enough I guess we will find out tonight, before round 26 I thought he would win it but I get a horrible feeling that he will be pipped by Boyd at the post, unfortunately Carney would only have polled votes in 1 of the last 5 rounds being the Manly match and even then it wouldn't surprise if SKD got the 3 points on the back of his match turning 3 try performance.

Centre of the Year - SKD who would have thought this being possible at the start of the year, he has had a fantastic season with ball in hand very destructive when his mind is on the job, another off season with Smith in charge and hopefully he can get rid of some of those stupid passes he has a habbit of throwing.

5/8th of the Year - Carney a certainty to win this award he has been the spark that has turned this club around and is likely to be heavily involved in the clubs next goldern era.

Coach of the Year - Smith will fight out the award with Cleary from the Warriors, but in my mind there is no doubt Smith should take the award on the back of the way he has turned our rabble of a club around from last year, not only the top grade but also NYC,Newtown,SG Ball and Harold Matthews.

I'm hoping that Carney can walk away with the top award it might give us that boost in confidence we need heading into the finals.

Carney blew it in the backend of the season, Boyd had a blinder in the last round. Boyd will get it, and rightfully so. Carney is amazing but still lacks that consistency.

Please not Boyd.....He is soooo shit. He accumulates votes by throwing 5 metre cutouts to unmarked wingers, and breaks tackles by stopping when he gets to the defensive line, runs backwards and then across field.

      Surely Gallen......Surely.

Not convinced that Boyd will win it. He would have got 3 points from last weekend but I doubt he polled too much prior to that. The Dragons lost a few games and of the games they won, he wasn't really the dominant player. He mainly goes ok when they put on a score. Toddy on the other hand probably polled about 15 of a possible 18 points in the 5 games we won on the trot plus the Manly game and played ok in the losses against the Sharks and Dragons and may have snared a point in each being close games. It would have been nice if we towelled the cowboys but I still believe he did enough and he will be declared the winner after round 25 counting.

Of course I am talking through my 40/1 kick

I have a feeling Carney needed a big game against the Cows to win the award

Also amazing that a fullback who only scored 2 tries this season is in the running for the Dally M!

Those who jumped on Carney early in the year, well lets say that youll be very very very very happy that you did.

Well what exactly does he do? What has he done to warrant the highest individual recognition you can receive in the game?

There are much better players out there..

If you watched St.George games instead of Cronulla games you would not need to ask that question....

i dont think boyd has a chance tbh, since voting went secret i only see him getting points twice, i think it will be either carney or marshall, both generally look very good when their teams win and both teams have done a fair bit of winning at the back end of the year

Carnage 1.35, Boyd 3.7, Gallen 8, the rest are into double digits.

                              Hope Toddy gets it
