  • So how do we get a home semi??

Simple really. Beat the Cowboys by more than the Warriors beat Parra(assuming Parra dont win outright) and hope that the Tigers roll the Titans at Skilled. Also if the Panthers lose their last two games we can sneak in there but thats looks unlikely seeing they play Dogs and Sharks.

If Tigers were to finish 4th with us 5th it will probably be played at the SFS.

I wouldn't mind beating them for a 4th time this year

apart from a home final, this would be our best case senario !!

We can finish as high as 3rd but even the 3rd vs 6th game could be a knock out game. I can see 7th beating 2nd and 8th beating 1st this year.....unless Manly make it

The positive is if we win we could end up with the week off.

We guarantee a home semi by winning in the first week of the finals

It would be frustrating if Wests beat the GC and Auckland rolled Parra by a touch more than the Roosters beat Nth Qld. This would mean the Roosters face a trip to NZ rather than a home game on the basis of a conversion or two.

The Roosters need to focus on simply winning the game first (this is the type of game they still have a habit of losing) but they should have the differential in mind. The advantage is that the Roosters will know how much they need to do because Auckland play at 5.30.

The run home (best and worst outcome for each team)

                  1. Dragons 36 +205 1st - beat Souths (h), 1st - lose to Souths

                  2. Tigers 34 +37 2nd - beat Titans (a), 4th - lose to Titans by 10 points or more and Penrith win remaining games

                  3. Titans 32 +19 2nd - beat Tigers (h) by 10 points or more and Penrith lose to either Bulldogs or Sharks. 6th - lose and Roosters, Warriors and Panthers win remaining games.

                  4. Panthers * 30 +112 2nd - win remaining games against Bulldogs (a) and Sharks (h) and Tigers lose. 8th - lose both games heavily and Roosters, Manly and Raiders win.

                  5. Roosters 30 +39 3rd - beat Cowboys, Tigers beat Titans, Penrith lose both games and Warriors either lose or win by less. 8th - lose, Manly win, Warriors win and Raiders win plus make up 35-point differential.

                  6. Warriors 30 +39 3rd - beat Eels, Tigers beat Titans, Penrith lose both games and Roosters either lose or win by less. 8th - lose, Manly win, Roosters win and Raiders win plus make up 35-point differential..

                  7. Manly 28 +41 4th - beat Bulldogs (h), Penrith lose both their games heavily and Roosters and Warriors lose. 9th - lose and either Souths win or Broncos win and make up 66-point differential.

                  8. Raiders 28 +4 4th - beat Broncos (a), Penrith lose both their games heavily and Manly, Roosters and Warriors lose. 10th - lose by 15 points and Souths win.

                  9. Souths 26 +31 7th - beat Dragons (a), Raiders and Manly lose and make up 10 points differential if Manly lose. 10th - lose and Broncos win.

                  10. Broncos 26 -25 7th - beat Raiders (h), Souths and Manly lose and make up 66 points differential with Manly. 10th - lose to Raiders.

It has been done in that order ever since they started using the McIntyre system in 1999.

It needs to be done in that order (or at least you need to have 3 vs. 6 and 4. vs. 5 before you play 2 vs. 7 and 1 vs. 8) to prevent any dead rubbers.

Our track record this year says that we lose to teh Cowgirls next week so dont worry about it.

We have to win against whomever is put in front of us so we may as well play the Drag Queens first.. Just need to bottle the form from the Parra and Manly game.
