  • Glenn Stewart facing 4-6 week suspension

Manly second rower Glenn Stewart has been charged with a grade five striking offence and could be ruled out until the 2010 NRL Premiership Grand Final.

Stewart is one of three players charged by the NRL Judiciary today.

Stewart faces a 4-6 week suspension following the incident with Braith Anasta in the Eagles 30-14 loss to the Roosters yesterday. If he takes the early plea, the four-week suspension will see him return for the grand final should the Eagles make it.

Roosters second rower Daniel Conn was charged with a grade four careless high tackle on Brent Kite and will miss one week with an early plea.

Parramatta’s Feleti Mateo will escape suspension with an early plea on a grade one striking charge on the Rabbitohs Jaiman Low, following their 24-16 loss to Souths on Friday night.

Big grub Stewart gets what he deserves.

Conn lucky to get a single week.

                That works out well.
He'll have more time to visit his brother in long bay in a few weeks!...

Conn's offence was nothing but throwing an arm out to a bloke stepping in the opposite direction, with no malice or intent. I'd consider it unlucky to get a week tbh.Especially since the grub Sandow got off for what looked like to me, a bloke trying to drive someone's melon in to the ground.

Looks like Petro will be joining him, after being sent off tonight.

His shot on Gary Warburton was pretty bad, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't at least get 2-3 weeks. It should be a Grade 4 reckless tackle

There's no way Civoniceva would have been sent off today if there hadn't been two bad hits in the Roosters vs. Manly game yesterday.

I think this might be one of those incidents where the grading is offset by the fact it was a pretty harsh sendoff. 2 weeks is probably on the mark.
