Mate, put "NEWTOWN" in the subject line. I nearly had a heart attack thinking Carney was gorrrnn.

No Jono Ford?? He must be on standby for Maubs.

      Good or Bad move?

He played a lot of his junior footy at halfback so it's no real surprise... I reckon he should be our utility though tbh, even if he doesn't provide impact you know his defence will be rock solid.

I agree, especially if it would get Koupashitsis out of the 17

Im not a jaubs fan but he would better serve us in place of Koups so please pray hard that he gets through the match injury free.

It's a good move. He'll get his hands on the ball a lot and do lots of defence. This will help his timing and awareness, so that hopefully next week he'll replace Koups on the bench.

Jaubs wouldn't have fallen off Dean Young like Koups did for that last try.

Jaubs is an excellent defender and although not the sharpest dummy half ever at least doesn't have a guaranteed howler of a mistake or two in him every game.

He played halfback for Newtown last week, set up a try and had a solid game overall.

His main problem at dummy half is he throws rockets at a player is less than five metres away and does throw the odd forward pass. He just doesn't know how to disguise it like Young does. But he can kick a ball and defends better than Koups imo. But when he has been available, Smithy has stuck with Koups and I doubt that will change for the rest of the year.

Not named for Newtown. Maybe an option to replace Maubs if he and BJ aren't fit. His profile says he plays 5/8 and fullback so I wonder if he is an option to replace Mini when the time comes. A big boy at 194cm and 94kgs.

Ford is really skinny for his height. IF anything he is an undersized John Sutton.

Koups is going nowhere! Smith had the option earlier this season to play Jaubs ahead of Koups, and stuck with the latter
